Blackwing Order Tracking - 2022 Model Year

Well...shit...I tried deleting a couple posts out of the old order tracking thread and I apparently nuked the whole damn thread! :r :hb

NOTE: the order tracking system is for U.S. based orders only. I can only view orders placed with dealers in the U.S.
NOTE: I will only track ONE order per member. If you have orders in at multiple dealers, pick one...

How do you get to this messenger chat option?
Lol I've gotten that same message for the past 2.5 months.

But go to cadillac.com when the little window pops up type hi, then agent, then once connected ask for what status code your order number is at. They will likely have the same copy/pasted message as above and tell you your dealer knows more

All orders have been checked and updated accordingly.
So my TPW (6/20) has survived few updates so I'm hopeful that this time it might actually happen.

I would like everyone’s thought on this. Would it wrong to write a email to the CEO of GM for the massive shipping delay? Since my car was at the lot of doom since 3/14, and my edd keeps getting pushed back.

I could be wrong, but personally I think they are already aware and already doing what they can.
Remember, they don't get paid until we get our car... so I think they are trying (to get their money)

... but what do I know?🤷‍♂️

Here’s a dumb question. Why do they make 1000 of these vehicles when they could sell much more. I get the whole Federal mpg regulations, is that the reason? I had a 2011 S4 and that year they made 8000 of them for the North American market. There weren’t a lot of them around, but enough that one could get one close enough to what they wanted off the lot (and below MSRP).

Yes, but go by your example. When you COULD get an RS4 in this country, how many were made compared to the S4. The BlackWings are on par with RS products, not S.

I have no idea, but I'm sure GM has done their research on the market. Look at previous CTSV production...3000 on the high end, 1000 on the low end.

Here's a question I have, why continue building cars that you don't have all the parts for and leave them sitting in lots for months on end? Why build cars that you don't have all the LPOs for so that dealers are left trying to figure out how the hell they're going to explain to a customer who's waited nearly a year for the car, why they'll have to come back and pick up their LPOs and/or get them installed?

I've spent the last three weeks trying to meditate between customers who took delivery of Corvettes 3 months ago, third party vendors, GM and the dealers, regarding LPOs, that fell off the radar.

Sorry for the harsh words, but piss-poor planning and logistics on GM's part.

It's a damn good thing the U.S. military doesn't operate like this or we'd all be in a heap of shit.

And, if the dealer holds on to a customer's car too long, that goes against GM's new ADS model for a dealers future allocation numbers.

Then there's the illustrious customer survey, where the customer rates the dealership experience poorly because their car wasn't delivered to them as they ordered it and they're pissed, even though it's not the dealer's fault.

Too many bad surveys, and GM holds back financial incentives to the dealers.

But as long as the stock holders are kept happy, f*** everyone else...

One of these days, I'm going to write a book, and it will be most enlightening...

The bird has landed! Rob, can you take me off the tracker? Thank you for everything. You were the light amidst the darkness, though my wait was certainly nothing compared to some of the others around here.

Ordered in January and delivered yesterday. I know we aren't supposed to post about dealers here, though if Rob will allow - Natalie Sells at Genesis Cadillac St. Claire Shores, MI was truly the best dealership experience I've ever had. I've had BMW's, an Alfa Romeo, a Corvette, and two other Cadillac dealers within the last 6 years and Natalie was by far the best. I couldn't be happier.

I get your point in the comparison, but doesn’t really answer my question. It’s like me asking why is the earth round and the answer is because Jupiter is round. Or then I would ask why were so few RS4s produced?

I’m not from the auto manufacturing world and I legitimately don’t know the answer. What is the fundamental reason behind why only 1000 cars can produced. Surely if there was a market they could make 10,000 of them?

4.8 million Ford model A’s were produced by 1932, all without computers in any part of the design or manufacturing process. Granted it is a very simple car compared to today’s cars. But surely somebody can make 10,000 of a car today if they wanted to. One possible answer, with that many cars the demand would be too low and the price would go down. Another possible answer is the mpg regulations.

I had told my dealer NOT to drill my front bumper for the front plate. He made sure that it did not get drilled. The next day I look in the trunk and I find a bag of stuff. The front plate holder was not there (paid extra) . He did call me and tell he found it. I also found two small metal plates. These are apparently air deflectors to help cool the front brakes. They only have 2 holes that look like an easy install. THEN, I read the 6 page install paperwork ! I guess I have to make an appointment with service to have these done. Should have been done during prep. For the next couple of days I'll be reading the owners manual, looking at forum posts and watching You Tube to figure out how things work ! Went to my first car show today to show it off.

I think the air deflectors are for track purposes. Pretty sure there is some explanation in a thread around here.

When reading your post, I thought you were gonna say they drilled the holes. Whew, glad they didn't!

Well after watching closely of all the bins after mine being delivered recently and their pics seems jack cooper either isn’t delivering due to gm has exceeded the allotment for delivery contract or they may just be doing the current productions and accelerated services seems to be doing all the lot goats that have been waiting.
Oops - I think that was my picture with the truck. With my apologies to the phone lines at Accelerated Services, RIP.

Today, I finally took delivery, and my goat quest is at an end. Thanks a lot for the tracker Rob. Hope you all get your blackwings soon!!
