New 5BW Owner, Former V-Wagon Owner

Hello!

Back in 2012, 10 BGR (Before Goat Rodeo) I ordered and owned a manual transmission CTS-V wagon for a few years. I used this thing as a daily driver, did long road-trips in it, drove it on Thunderhill Raceway for a couple of track days (my first ever on-track experience), helped friends move house with it, you name it. I absolutely loved that car ... but when my business went through a rough patch years ago, I sold it for a 15K loss with 35K miles on it. At least that was a lot better depreciation than an AMG. Still, that car was always the 'one that got away'.

Today I finally took delivery of my Satin Steel CT5-V Blackwing MT and it is even better than I hoped it would be. It reminds me of everything I loved about the V-Wagon, but with everything quite a bit better. I'm looking forward to putting many fun miles on this car!

6/13/22. I got a note from my Sewell (Dallas) Cadillac sales lady that my 5BW production code number has moved up to 4B00. The "B" is for "Bayed". I think that means ready to ship, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know?

Really a frustrating experience! I put my BW order in on February 18, 2021 and nothing has happened. Cadillac confirms the order every time I check but no movement into the production arena.
Today I cancelled the order and placed a new order for a 2023 model. Keeping my fingers crossed but..........

I feel your pain. The local dealer (town 30 miles south of Dallas) first told me the.price would be MSRP + 5G. I said no. Did my heart good when they lost the Cadillac franchise. I ordered a 5BW from Sewell in October '21. 2 weeks ago I was told my 5BW was built and awaiting shipment.
The entire experience has been frustrating.
I , like everyone else, am being patient. I am 84. I hope I get it before I croak.

Yup, 4B is usually a precursor to shipping. It seems like we're past the stage where they're shuffling cars between lots, so I'm hopeful that means yours will be at your dealer in 5-10 days!

It will be my 3rd Cadillac. CTS-V coupe, ATS-V coupe and now at last, a Sedan, with a usable back seat.
