Subwoofer Install

Just for reference I installed the LLJ harness into my vehicle with no sound system mods. The fake engine noise and stuffy ANC feeling was driving me nuts. I then drove 5 hours for some thanksgiving festivities.

I can now see why they had opted into using ANC the lack of insulation in the trunk makes the ride very loud and drony and the AKG speakers are complete ass.

The real exhaust note does sound good when you are accelerating but something about tour mode in 6th at 70 doesn’t resonate well and sounds boomy.

I think adding some light sound deadening so the trunk isn’t like some cavernous hole resonating would probably fix the issue, but again this is just my theory until I get around to it

Also if you’d like to test this out to see if it’s something you want to commit to you can remove F26 in the trunk fusebox to disable to amp and see how it sounds

Here's your thread: Cheap "Mod" Upper Trunk Liner

I added resonix sound deadening materials to the whole trunk floor, wheel tubs and did the 2inch foam to the openings behind the wells to help with the road noise i am experiencing, for the $ was not worth it throwing a few blankets in the truck i bet would do the same. I then started looking under the car and installed sound deadening under the plastic pans in front of the rear wheels, this was a noticeable difference maybe 30% better. Since putting my car away for the winter i recently did between both rear wheel liners and the body and the underside of rear deck like shown above, will see if that helps more in the spring.
Fyi this is on a stock car with ANC still hooked up.

Just finished getting my subwoofer installed. It took months to get the fiberglass enclosure installed. I just don't have much time on the weekends. The LC2i Accubass is finicky. I have it basically disabled right now. I might try something like the Kicker Keyloc in the future.

I've been researching the LC2i more. It sounds like AccuBASS is useless if you tap the subwoofer. It needs to see all frequencies to evaluate the loss in bass. Does anyone know if the factory system rolls off bass at higher volume?
