  • I know that lately, we've gained a lot of new members which is awesome and a lot of those new members are coming from other forums that may use vBulletin and their Private Message (PM) system. Here, we use the XenForo forum software which is (IMHO) much better than vBulletin. The "Conversation" system here is the same as the PM system on vBulletin. So if you want to PM another member, just click their username in a post, and click on "Start Conversation". To see all of your PMs, click on your profile and go to Inbox. Hope this helps.

Hi all,

Name is Bob, and this place sure has the "new forum" smell. I've had my V for around 4 months, and in that time have driven it on 14 different days. To say it isn't a daily driver is a bit of an understatement. Was hoping to be able to post an avatar on the new forum, but like the other, can't.

Nope, it has an indicator pre-checked that says by checking it your not going to use a custom avatar. Problem is, it won't let you un-check it. I've hit the reset button but it doesn't do anything. Don't sweat it, just new forum teething pains. I too have a forum.

Not quite. It does let me choose my picture now from my hard drive, I then choose an avatar friendly (which means very small file size) picture, then it tells me invalid file. I will now change the file name of that picture and see if it will accept it.

Tried renaming my file, but still get the "invalid file" page.

If it doesn't work, let me know.

Hi Bob & Rob,

I tried to add an avatar also and got the "invalid file" error message. The file I tried to add is 100x25 jpg file.
It is my avatar on a different forum.
