Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

MSRP for a full OEM set is $3900.

Installation is supposedly extremely easy but I’m going to have the stealership do it this time for peace of mind. They said it would bill 4hr of labor.

Also to note: Front rotors are on back order so cars been sitting around for 2 weeks.

I really want to drive so I just ordered some Carbotech XP12 & 10 track pads to use in the meantime on the old but still in spec rotors until the fresh set of OEMs is all here. Will swap to them for track days in the future.
Thanks. Yikes, that's pretty steep. But they are massive.

Yeah unfortunately the car eats expensive consumables like yummy treats but I suppose this is the trade off for having a heavier sedan.

I can’t imagine what a new M5 is like

Wow, very cool. What material those made from? Any info you can share on the source image, who made, etc.?

Me want😎
I had them made at my local wrap/decal store. He custom makes decals of all types. I had some done with a black background and some done with white background. The black went better with the black visor material. They are just made out of vinyl. They also have a thicker material that is used for exterior decals that hold up to weather and have a satin finish to them. I think I may get a set of those made this summer.

Thanks. Gonna investigate that path locally. I loathe those stupid yellow idiot badges . Previously I just used a vinyl black patch to cover them, but loved the brand style you did.

Interesting to see that listed on Etsy. I ordered directly from Sunvisor Solutions on their website and got it in a few days in a #10 envelope.
Based on the name of the color you chose, it seems like you went with fabric instead of suede?

Duh!!! I should have read the whole web page...it lands on the fabric and mentions the suede at the bottom of the copy. Poor reading comprehension on my part, but the fabric still matches well and does the job.

Just an fyi that might help someone. I wanted to clean my red brake calipers properly and taking the wheel off really is the only way to get all the factory "film" off. Caddy does not give a jack or even jacking instructions so I went on youtube to get some input. "order jack pad for the floor jack" NOT a great option, the pad can slip as i found out. So i went old school and bought a scissor jack off amazon. Works perfect and clears the body panels etc. Jacking spots are clearly placed and the floor jack fits nicely...Add a battery powered impact with a 22 socket and the calipers are now sparkling.

There is a massive thread here on jacking this car up.

TLDR - buy a ZL1 add in pinch weld adapter with the hockey puck extender and stick it on your pinch weld (depending which wheel you are working on) and jacking it up is easy.

Well I have a suede color chart on the way. We'll see if any of those are a better match.

thanks, did the pinch weld thing still wasn't happy. likely me for sure but the scissor jack works perfectly and now i have options that work. Yes, there was likely an easy search here before i even tried but didn't use it lol.

I haven't used a scissor jack in at least 20 years since I had one fail while changing a tire on my Escalade. Today I think I'd look for a steep hill I could balance a corner of the car on before I'd use a scissor.

truth there, ONLY on flat level garage floor. The pinch weld pad slipped off my floor jack and i was super careful

Did yesterday: Installed Hawk DTC-60 pads and Castrol SRF fluid for a track day coming up.

Idk what’s up but the dealer replaced the stock brake fluid less than 10k miles ago during a maintenance and it already felt mushy. This castrol srf really refreshed the clutch pedal feel and brake pedal modulation.

Castro SRF is good stuff! Wish Performance Friction made pads for our cars, I never took a liking to the DTCs. Have you used them before on this platform?

I took out my DRL modules since the passenger side is faded. Now searching replacement modules but only finding lower trim CT5 ones.

Picked up my 2022 5BW from my brothers body shop. Installed the Anderson Composite Carbon Fiber hood. VERY HAPPY with the results. They make a QUALITY product that went on without ANY issues. I did paint it to match and left the vents as exposed carbon fiber. The part was about $2400 delivered in a nicely protected box. My paint and labor was free ! (Guess I gotta get him a gift card to McDonalds !) The hood could have been left alone out of the box with just the black carbon fiber......but.....this ain't no Hell cat !
