Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Thanks, which ones are you guys going with? Car is White. I'm thinking clear lens with White
My other car (not BW) is white and I went with a clear lens side marker. Looks great. Better than a smoke lens on a white car I would think.

How dark is your tint? I need to get mine done but I have no idea how dark I should go.

Right now, I feel like I'm riding around in a fish bowl for everyone to see; but I don't want it to be so dark its difficult to drive at night.

I really don't know what percentage or any of that. I've used the same guy since the 90's but usually just tell him to make it right. I believe on this one the front two are as dark as Illinois allows legally and the back windows are a shade darker. Sorry I don't have better detail than that.

Here's mine with 20% all around. It is in a dark area so it does seem darker but I think 20 is the sweet spot. This is just normal tint and not ceramic.

How dark is your tint?
Personally, I think 25% is the ticket on a white car. I don't see well in low light situations, so I kept mine a little on the lighter side at 35%. The main thing is that the interior is so much cooler. Been thinking about having the windshield done in clear ceramic.

The legal limit in Illinois is 35%. I wouldn’t go darker than what is allowed in your state otherwise you are inviting the police to pull you over and ticket you. Any reputable shop or the internet should be able to tell you how dark you can legally go. I went 35% all around and I think it’s plenty dark.

Apparently Ohio is only legally allowed 50%... Which I'm learning isn't very dark :-/

I would add that from the exterior, 35% will appear quite a bit darker with black interior than it does on my sky cool gray.

FWIW I do 35% all around including sides and back, and also do 70-80% on windshield which is actually pretty clear and helps a lot with heat inside. Night vision driving not affected by windshield.

Ohio is 50% on the front doors (there is a medical exemption to exceed this limit) and no limit on any windows behind the driver.

With only 50% on the front windows, people will still be able to see me inspecting what I picked from my nose holes :-/

I've run 15% on my cars for 25 years and have only been stopped once with no tickets threatened (I do have a medical exemption, but OSP seemed to be doing drug trafficking enforcement that day).

Before and After pics after I got my Torch Red belts installed today on my 4BW! I love the contrast and it really livens up the interior IMHO. I've heard others have had issues getting the center rear, but I was able to get them in about 3 weeks. I never really thought of contrasting belts as a fashion statement but the Polestar XC 60 that my wife is getting has yellow belts to match the brake calipers and that got me really wanting these.
Looks great! Couple questions if you don't mind...where did you get them from and how did you install them? I'd like to do blue seatbelts but I cannot find any shop or dealer willing to do the work for safety concerns.

Yeah but who enforces tint...
Pohpoh that are itching for a reason to stop/give you a ticket or to boost the total ticket revenue of another reason for stopping you. It's a money thing... not insignificant local/state revenue comes from motor vehicle violation fines.
