What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Took delivery of my '26 this week and had her tinted and ceramic

Congrats! Just the color I was waiting to see in the new style
No CF packages, but I'm digging the Argent Silver. It's a little knee jerk from my previous car which was black and impossible to keep clean. Hopefully the Silver should be easier to keep up on.

I kinda hate to say it...but....I'm a little pissed at Cadillac that they kept on making these Blackwings. Back in 2021 they said it was only going to be, maybe, a 2-3 year run. I believe in 2021 there were only 250 made. I know in 2022 there were only something like 1763 or so made, due to Covid parts problems. Then I was OK with them making 2023's . Then they kept going with the 24's/25's and now 26's. I have said before that they are hanging out with the Dodge marketing guys and learning how to keep selling and making "special editions".
Does anyone have the final production numbers of the 23-24-25 (CT5-V BW's) ?? My low production Blackwing isn't so low production anymore !

Those first 250 were "really" built in late 2020/ early 2021 and unveiled in February 2021. I was told by a GM exec at a show that they were finished with the first 250 before the 2021 Christmas factory vacation shut down. They sold right away. The #1 VIN went for $250,000 at charity auction. When I first went to buy / order one of the first 250, I was told that they were all taken. This was April of 2021. I don't know why they called them 2022's. I ordered my 22' in October 2021 and received it in early June 22. I think the order banks opened in June/July 2021 for the 2022 production run.
Just like the more compact CT4-V Blackwing, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing was first seen in a teaser aired during the Rolex 24 At Daytona endurance race, was officially unveiled on February 1st, 2021. It launched during the summer of 2021 as a 2022 model year vehicle.
Maybe if someone on the Forum bought one of the first 250 can provide more insight on how they got it.
I'm just happy I was able to get mine at all !

The first 250 were allocated to individuals who were the first to get thru on line. You then chose the dealer where you wanted it delivered to. I initiated contacting Corporate to allow me to change the initial dealership that I had chosen because they wouldn't commit to MSRP even tho I handed them the allocation. Others followed.

the car officially debuted in February 2021 via a live stream event. During the call, you called the 800 number to place an order for one of the first 250 (of each). No dealer connection or allocation was necessary - your chosen dealer got the sale. I delayed chatting with the wife on yes/no... we decided yes and I called for 5 ... Agent said, "sorry, you just missed it - sold out. But, I have three 4s left - want one? When I said no thanks, they said we believe Cadillac, after the first 250 of each are built, will release more allocations. And they did. I sat a 1100 for a year as the first batch of 22s were built in Julyish of 21 and Tall Steve got the first one delivered in August of 21 (as I recall). Then the goat rodeo started. I got an allocation in January of 22, the car was built in February 22 and delivered, gulp, in August of 22.

I had my 4th oil/filter change done today at my local dealer. My car only has 6334 miles on her. Talk about over kill ! I decided to use my GM points to pay for it. I had 20, 650 points accrued. So that means that they would use $206.50 towards the service. The total cost ended up being $237.76 for JUST an oil change. I had asked for a tire rotation (side to side) and the Tech said it wasn't necessary. I ended up still paying $31.71 out of pocket. I had received a $40 discount coupon for Dexos1 oil change and they would not put it toward a Supercar 0W-40 service. Cheap bastards ! Then when I got home I pulled my records. The first oil change labor rate in August 2023 at 1427 miles was $179.95 per hour. July 13th 2024/ 3415 miles, it went up to $189.95 per hour. Then today at 6334 miles the labor rate was $219.95. Their labor rate has increased $30 in one year. While there , I did get a print out for my extended warranty from MacMulkin Cadillac that I bought in April for $1808 for 7 years / 56k miles with $100 deductible. The paperwork revealed that the factory first inspection of the completed car was done on 3/20/2022. I ordered the car in October 2021 and took delivery on June 9th 2022.
I did notice on my bill a part # of VVP057 description ETU-4-0 . Cost $29.39 Does anyone know what this is ?
This is my most expensive oil change EVER ! Atlantic Cadillac/Chevrolet just built a new Cadillac showroom next door and I guess I am helping to pay for it !

I had a similar charge ($29.xx) for my first oil change though it had a proper GM part number. It turned out to be fuel additive to supposedly clean the injectors. They said it is part of their standard oil change service. I asked, "at a 1000 miles"? I complained a bit and then they removed the charge from my bill. I asked them to put a note in my file to never put the additive in again. And I have also made it a point to point this out at the time of dropoff at any subsequent oil changes. You should probably ask about your charge.

I could have sworn fuel injector cleaner snake oils ended in the late '90s. But I guess not.

I secured my order online for one of the first 250 5BWs right at the time they opened the online allocations on Feb 1, 2021 at 7pm. Actually my wife aland I were both separately online vyjng to secure an allocation. In fact we both secured one. I lhen asked her, "So, his and hers?". I got a much longer pause than I expected before I got the head shake. So we let the second allocation go. 😅

But I had the same problem with my local dealer that I selected. I pressed them for an assurance of no ADMs, undercoating, pinstripes, nitro tire fills, etc. After getting no such assurances right up to the deadline for locking down my build, I called the another local dealer who helped move the allocation over to their dealership and gave me an assurance of MSRP in writing.

Allocations for the 250 were opened and all taken up on Feb 1, 2021. I was told that the 250 5BWs were gone in 3 minutes and the 250 5BWs were gone in 90 mins.

Then order banks for these allocations opened in early March 2021 and closed sometime in late March or early April AFAIR. If your order wasn't spec'ed and entered into the system by the deadline, you supposedly would lose the allocation, and the dealer you had chosen to take delivery from would take it as their own allocation.

I remember sitting watching one of my kids in practice as I refreshed my screen over and over hoping I'd get lucky in the first 250. No dice for me. Final order went in some time in April of '21 and delivered to me Dec22, 2021.

My friend had ordered a 22' and they told him that it would be a while before delivery. Months later when I was on this site, I found that we could track our builds. I aske my friend for his allocation # and he discovered that he never had one. I had to break the news to him that he doesn't have a car either without that number. He complained to the dealer and they admitted that they never processed his order. They ended up getting an allocation for a 2023 and the same exact spec'd car cost him $7000 more !
