Winter Wheels and Tires

Will it okay to put on Michelin pilot AS4 265/35/18 in the front and 285/35/18 in the back? They are available at Tirerack.

Tire rack should have the standard front 255s in stock, i think most of us went to either 265s or non xl 275s in the rear, not sure if anyone went up to 285. Looks like they have 1 read 275 in stock with more coming in ~2 weeks. The conti dws06+ are in stock now that I ran

Same wheels as Novakin, but Conti DWS06 plus in 255/35 and 275/35. I have another vehicle for the small amount of snow we get so I opted for a/s instead of dedicated snows(since there were no good choices anyway). The rears don't have xl load designation, but for mild winter street use it shouldn't be an issue.

Any issues with the non XL load on the rear tires? I had the same tires on my S4 and they were great. Was hoping to get a set of these for this winter.

Well my second set of tech bronzes showed up today! Going to mount the stock summers on them. If anyone has any questions or needs anything for Reference off them let me know

Do you have the part number? Most of the GM part sites I've seen don't have pics of the wheels up. I think I want a set for when I put my summer tires back on in the spring.

There's a great opportunity to get a weight on them. Hopefully under 24lbs.

Got 255/40/19 and 295/30/19 sottozero IIs mounted last week on stock tech bronze wheels. Looks wise you’d think the car is on a 305 and so far I’ve been extremely pleased with the tires dry performance as well as aesthetics. Surprised how well the car hooks honestly

Michelin AS4’s or DWS06 pluses for my 4BW? On the fence. I’ve had the original DWS06’s on multiple sports cars but the pluses are a new model.

I’m putting on DWS 6 plus on my 4BW on the 19th of this month. I have 2k miles on my OEM Michelin pilot 4S. If anyone wants it, I will sell it for $600, which is 1/2 price of a new one. If interested PM me.

I was going to as well but then I realized it didn’t have the right XL load rating for the rears with the DWS06 plus so I had to order Michelin AS4’s instead.

I put Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3s on tonight in NJ. 4BW, 255/35/18 and 265/35/18. Will report back next week once I've spent some time on them.
I ran these last year and will again this year. They work well if you need true winters.

so... I measured these multiple times and cannot explain it but,

Front: 18x9 tech bronze 28.2 lbs

Rear 18x9.5 tech bronze 27.2lbs
That's a bit on the heavy side. That would motivate me to find an aftermarket option. Unsprung weight is worth it to reduce.

Tech Bronze was definitely not a performance option.
Make me think about running my Apex winters as summers. 21lbs only and run 275's front and rear.

Agreed they aren't the lightest, I still can't figure out where the extra weight is coming from on the fronts. I do like the look and without going into custom flow forged territory I was somewhat happy with the price for it. I ran vossens on my ATS that were a bit lighter and flow forged but the smallest option you can spec is 19 and I really would prefer 18s still on this car. I ran 19s on my ATS and I bent 3 of those wheels because of how low of a profile the sidewall was by stepping up.

Yeah, I have 0 interest in anything bigger than 18's.
