Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Looks great ! I have questions. Is the Anderson hood a simple swap of the factory hood or do the hinges have to be changed? I saw on their site about a recommended "heat shield". Does it come with a heat shield or is the factory hood insulation used? Were there any fitment issues that needed addressing when the installation was done? Enquiring minds need to know. Please post some pictures of the hood opened and hinges. Thankx !

Perfect fit out of the box, simple swap, installed with the oem hardware. After it was painted the bodyshop had the old hood off and this installed in 20 minutes. No fitment issues at all.

I didn't get heatshields, asked a few members who been running the hood for a while and they said it's been fine without them.

My brothers own the family auto body shop that my Dad started over 60 years ago. They want to sell it and retire very soon. I better order my hood soon and get it in their shop for my free installation and paint !

Got an oil change, alignment done, and driver's seat lumbar/massage/bolster bladders replaced as they failed a few months ago.

I really appreciate how cheap this thing is to maintain vs. the German competition. Oil change with 9qts of synthetic at the dealer in a HCOL area was $102.76. The filter was $6.02! Not even with a discount. I couldn't even do an oil change myself for that price with my prior BMW Ms.

BMW dealers in Chicago run $99 oil change special all year long. I think Blackwing benefit from some GM lesser expensive parts but other things are high. Like front rotors or oem pads. There are no alternatives .... while in bmw world there are several quality vendors which keep oem prices in check. Our tire selection is also a bit challenging.
