I used to use oil extractor on my older bmws which has a dipstick. Anybody tried it on CT4v BW?

I haven't used one. Would think that it couldn't extract as much of the old oil as conventional remove the oil plug can. Could be wrong.

If you're doing your own change, I presume you have the space, tools, and to and ability to dispose of the oil, down the storm drain of course. Extracting oil from the top is the same as the Fumoto valve, I don't get the point of either. I don't have a 4, but the 5 requires you to get under the car to change the filter, so ramps regardless.

I know a lot of people who used them for cars with cartridge filters on the top of the engine. It's nice not to have to mess with a drain plug and all that mess, so I get the appeal. The LF4 has a filter on the bottom so as mentioned previously, you're still having to get it in the air for the filter.

I have an oil extractor too but the fact that I gotta crawl underneat to replace the filter kinda kills the point of using it. Might as well use my ramp, jack the nose up to drain and swap filters.

Yea. I personally dislike spin on filters. Too used to bmw ones on top.
My dealer charges $90 for an oil service. Will be doing that

For 90 bucks I'd just let the dealer handle it too, especially since you gotta get under there for the filter anyway.

How can they even make any money at $90? Is that the base price and then when you roll in with your BW is excluded and it's actually $300? It's still a time and competency deal for me. I know it's the right materials and quantities, and my car didn't fall off the rack or get hot rodded/damaged by a tech. I'm at a race track 10 or more times a year and recycle used oil there.

Nope. All day long every day. No upsell.
My bmw dealer runs $99 oil change special. Chicago. Both dealers will Uber you back home and back for pickup if you leave the car for the whole day and not be a waiter.

I'm an "I'll do it myself" kinda guy. Mostly because I can knock it out in about 30-45 min. I'm impatient and don't like waiting on the dealer

$90-$99 is a good deal though.
