V-Series Cadillac(s)?
2022 CT5V Blackwing
I’m sure this is obvious to everyone here, but as a noob I can’t seem to locate the thread where it’s explained. What does the first part of the steering wheel serial number represent?

It designates whether it’s a CT4 or CT5 and a manual or automatic transmission.

From what I can tell these numbers correspond to the last 6 digits in the VIN as well. The wheel has 5 digits since they are just listing the first 250 and the sixth digit would be a zero. I believe the way the steering wheel numbers break down is:

  • 86-000 --> CT5-V BW Manual (6 for 6-speed?)
  • 81-000 --> CT5-V BW Auto (1 for most significant digit of 10 for 10-speed?)
  • 46-000 --> CT4-V BW Manual
  • 41-000 --> CT4-V BW Auto

I suspect the 61 prefix we saw in some reviews are for press or pre-production cars probably to be destroyed at some point??

This section of the CT4 Owners Manual, explains the VIN Digits, for different Production Sequences.
Not sure what the CT5 Production Digits are ( I downloaded the CT5 Manual and it had the same Digits as the CT4 Manual)?
