Rear Diff Fluid

Anyone know what the 'new' fluid is? The original 19418501 part has been discontinued and I can't find the new part # online.

EDIT: Looks like the new part number is :ACDELCO 10-4131

TASCA and Rock Auto show it as replacing the x8501 part.

Anyone else know for sure which one it is? Would like to get some orders for my 5V BW.

Also, what about the fluid that is in the cooler when you drain the diff? Does it just stay in the cooler and not get drained out? Wondering if you should drain & refill the diff, drive it, then drain it again to be sure you get all of the old stuff out?

My understanding of the cooling systems on these cars is there is a small heat exchanger near the diff, but the cooling fluid is a separate and distinct system that isn't gear oil. In other words, drain and fill gets nearly all the fluid out.

Correct. Just the GM part is discontinued, the AC Delco part 10-4131 remains (its not new , its been the AC Delco part number for a while)

Correct. The fluid in question is just the gear which is totally separate as you mention.

Thank you for the responses, very helpful!
