2024 CT4-V Blackwing
First time poster.
I've been tracking my stock 2024 CT4-V Blackwing for a couple of years. I don't have the track camber set on it because I am waiting for the single use bolt for the rear that is on backorder.

I'm burning tire sidewalls down to the cord soooo fast. I'm inflating the tires beyond recommendation to avoid it (starting around 33-34 and ending sessions around 42-43psi) but it's still happening.

Has anybody set the camber and toe on the front without doing the rear as well?

I know this can increase oversteer. But I don't know to what extent and I'm curious any other problems it could cause.

This should be interesting to see what others have been doing. My first alignment was done at the dealer and was expensive because of various "single use" bolts. The next 3 alignments have all been done at a local shop reusing the same bolts.

You've had no issues with them reusing the bolts? Do you track your car at all?
 
Would it be practical to use Loctite blue as a temporary measure and safety wire as a backup? At least until you can get the right bolts.

With torque to yield/angle bolts the issue is the bolts stretch and therefore weaken. The danger is snapping more than backing out. If it’s the rear toe arm bolt my dealer had them in 24/hr and had my PP arms on the next day.

You are absolutely right, I should have been clearer in suggesting the Loctite/safety wire workaround instead of doing the torque-to-angle part again on the same bolt. Mea culpa.

Friday will be my 5th track day this year.

First alignment by dealer went to -1.4, then local shop to -1.7, then -2.7 and now at -3.7 with camber plates. Still chewing up outside edges. This tire had 5 days on it.

Try zero toe for both more responsive steering and to minimize inside edge wear from the extreme camber.

You need camber plates and toe links to get into the range of where you'll want to be for track use. You can only get to about -2.7 and -2.0 without adding things.

Yeah, the one time bolts is a pain, but as others have stated, once you stretch them, you can't get an accurate torque reading and they will most likely break, or be stressed to the point where they will back off over time.
 
Update for anybody who cares:

Turns out the dealer thought there was a special different bolt for setting track camber settings. Couldn't get a part number from GM because that part does not exist 🤦.

Regular single use bolt is not on backorder.
