V-Series Cadillac(s)?
2022 CT4-V BW
I know there have been some other threads about this topic but I never saw any real answers just people posting how many years they drove through Texas and never got stopped. Let’s just assume that there are some of us who don’t want to take the chance, assume we are trafficking large quantities of … I don’t know, something that would be bad if we got stopped with them. Bluebonnets! Yeah, that’s the ticket. Anyway, does anyone know if there is a front tow mounted plate that either works with the 4VBW or is made specifically for it? I’ve seen the other mounts that sit right in front of the intercooler which I’m not a big fan of but they might be the best alternative. Just can’t figure out why those tow mounts are made for every other car but not the 4VBW. Thanks a lot and sorry to dig this topic back up. If it’s all the same to you guys, we don’t need to hear about how the front license plate isn’t necessary. We are past that.
Thanks

Not sure why but EOS plates sells the tow hook mount for the CT5 Blackwing but not the CT4

While we are on the subject of cool things you can get on your 5V but not available on the four, I’d really like one of those fancy dash cam/digital rear view mirrors. You seen those? I know you can. Get a $109 version off Amazon but that’s not really want I’d like either.

Search the forum or internet in general, there are walkthroughs on retrofitting the digital rear view mirror on the ATS / CTS and beyond. I believe alpha mods sells a kit.

Not sure if it would fit the CT4, but check out Sly Brackets. They make a no drill bracket that just secures to the bottom mesh grille, works perfectly on my C63.

I just installed the Sly mount on my 5BW, really nice piece. OEM-look minus the drilled clunky bracket.

Here’s the one I got after reading it would work on a forum post. I’m not in love with the look, but better than drilling holes. It works good.

I installed the Sly mount, leveler kit and a thin plate frame on my 5BW and very happy with results. It’s been on the car for almost 7 months and no issues at all. I researched all the other mounts and Sly was as close to factory location, but no holes. The owner was great to deal with and product solid as they come. Looks about factory as can be. 👍

The plate tilts slightly down without the leveler kit and wonder if that would better against laser hits 🤔

Thanks. Do you have pics? I ordered one of these today.

I live in Houston and drive all over Texas. I’ve had a K40 in my last 4 cars and haven’t had a ticket during that time. It has a built in laser detector/jammer and I have only been hit with laser twice in the past 9 years, both in Houston. The first time with what I will call gen1 K40 and he did pull me over because he could tell I jammed him. No ticket. The new gen K40 have a setting you can select that lets you know you’ve been tagged, jams the first two laser locks and then allows the third to bounce back giving them an accurate speed. When the K40 sends of the laser alter it is an ear opener because it happens so little.

Make sure you get the plate close to the middle parking sensor. I originally left about an inch and a half gap between the plate and inside sensor. It was setting off the outside sensor so had to shift it over towards the center.

Since I’m invested in the Escort radar system already in all my vehicles, I did think about adding their laser jammers to my 5BW and my more daily driver, my AT4. My other cars are far less and under the radar.

The K40 is a nice system and I like the 5 second jam feature then 30 seconds they have. At the moment, I’m getting ready to sink similar money into a ductless AC system for my garage. 😀

I get laser hits along I-10 between Houston & San Antonio on some trips and on 59 South towards Victoria more often than I like. Most have been from TXHP. On occasion, since 99 seems to be a hot bed for speeders, they will set up at times with laser on a couple different areas I’ve noticed.

Around Katy / Cinco Ranch areas, most time happens around school zone areas and not so frequently outside of them.

Is this the eos tow hook one? I did look at sly brakets but I feel it being connected to plastic seem less durable than the tow hook metal ones.

Mid size. Full size seemed like overkill. The mid size bracket works fine.
