CT5-V 5BW new tire time - discussion

CT5-V Model
The consensus obviously is to stick with TPC spec OEM, however I would like a better option as well. I don’t deal with cooler temperature issues where I live and it rarely rains, so I’m looking for warm weather performance options besides the Cup 2 as well. I had 888Rs on a previous car with the LT4, so I know that would solve my problem but I’m not willing to deal with the noise. They were even louder than I expected.

I know many forum members run their cars and do track time with OEM tires and are very happy and I am too with some degree of traction/stability control on (like the recommended settings when at Spring Mountain). My frustration comes when traction control is off and I want to run through the gears. I realize the ask with the level of power and tire size limitation, but I would like to think we can do a bit better.

I’ve decided I will most likely try to run Cup 2 in the rear and OEM TPC spec in the front. Not engineered for that, but I have to think it may work for my purposes.

I hadn't looked at Tire Rack in a couple of months but there seem to be more sticky choices than before, including an updated version of the BFG Rival that might be interesting. I'm happy with my 2nd set of TPC-spec tires but will probably try something different next time.
