Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

What did you do to your Blackwing today?

Castro SRF is good stuff! Wish Performance Friction made pads for our cars, I never took a liking to the DTCs. Have you used them before on this platform?
I have not. I originally wanted carbotech xp12 and 10s but they’re made to order and needed something quick, so Ken at knsbrakes recommended the DTC60s.

Cannot say anything bad about them so far the performance and thermal capacity is beyond my expectations for a 4000lbs vehicle. They also seem pretty good for street for driving to and from track + any pit stops you’ll have.

I haven't used a scissor jack in at least 20 years since I had one fail while changing a tire on my Escalade. Today I think I'd look for a steep hill I could balance a corner of the car on before I'd use a scissor.

I had one fail on me as well!

It was an aluminum scissor jack from the trunk of a brand new 2000(ish) Audi A4. A colleague had a flat, and I offered to change it for her in the company parking lot. I got the flat off, and just after I stuck it under the rocker panel the scissor jack twisted like a pretzel and the car dropped onto the tire. Scared the hell out of us.

At the time, I had a VW and my car's jack was identical to the Audi's, with one exception: the VW version was heavy gauge steel.

Duh!!! I should have read the whole web page...it lands on the fabric and mentions the suede at the bottom of the copy. Poor reading comprehension on my part, but the fabric still matches well and does the job.
OK so I got the suede color samples and "Jet Black" 8104 is a pretty perfect match for the 4BW visor. I'd assume 5BW uses the same, but if there's anyone in the greater NOVA/DC area with a 5BW I can hand off the sample chart for science.

I left my front windows down about an inch, to vent todays heat. I get back in the car about 3 hours later and I have a fine coating of yellow pollen all over my interior ! Worst part about spring. This should end in a couple of weeks. Need some wind and rain.

For bmw owners. Bmw sells a nifty air freshener. It fits perfectly into ac duct. And it's V shaped.

1500 mile oil/filter and differential gear oil change. It's now Game On! :happyanim::devilish:

Great minds think alike - doing the same on this Memorial Day! Along with a Fumoto valve, FilterMag oil filter magnet, and ZLAddons jacking pads. View attachment 34473
Haha, nice... so good the be free of the break-in overwatch. Forgot to add I also swapped in a GoldPlug magnetic oil drain plug and put front pinch weld lift points on while I was at it.

Question- what wheel chocks are you using behind the front wheels? Closer picture of them in-place? I have same RaceRamps and 10" RR cribs... have yet to find a chock that I feel like trusting my life/car with on the RaceRamps. So for both Camaros, I end up putting rear up on ramps and then forcing the front up against the engine/gear/brake on the rears. Works but not ideal... Decided against that gymnastics for this round on the 4BW, and just did front ramps for oil change and then wiggled my big beer belly under the car flat on the ground to do the rear diff. Ugh.

I have the RaceRamps brand chocks, Part # RR-WC-1. They're solid rubber with aggressive texture on the bottom, I tend to give them a couple of good whacks to wedge them in as tight as I can against the tire (and I also make sure the tire is as far forward as it can go against the lip of the ramp). Been using these for at least 7-8 years without incident (knocks on wood), I usually have it in combination with the parking brake on or a jack stand in place or some other kind of back up system though.

I installed a couple of radar detectors today. One in the 5BW and the other in my AT4. Took me less than an hour to get both installed. Pretty clean installs. I used blendmount for the mounts and wire taps.

Thanks. Looks like they don't make those any more.

Nothing to the 4BW, which is sitting in the garage in San Antonio, but I picked up this XC60 Polestar Engineered Volvo for my wife. She insists on an SUV but this has 455 bhp, adjustable suspension, upgraded brakes and gold seatbelts to match the brake calipers. We did overseas delivery in Gothenberg Sweden and drove to Oslo. Next stop Stockholm! Unfortunately no autobahns in Scandinavia and speed limits are much lower and strictly enforced than what we are used to back in TX.
