After reading and confirming with my salesman that the 2026 Blackwing would be the last of the current generation, decided to trade my 2023 CT5V for a 2026. I made this decision, because I still love the current model, and I don’t know if I would like the next generation. No motor was mentioned,or even if there’s going to be a Blackwing. I have a build date of 1/19/2026, My salesman said the waiting times are about 3 months, and no more above sticker price. For all who have ordered 2026,s,is this reliable info? Thanks.

Hard to say regarding your dealer and wait times. It depends on how frequently they get allocations and where you are in their priority list (or even if they have a list). Another factory is whether GM has any options you want on constraint (such as CF). Production is scheduled to go all the way to end of the 2026 calendar year. So there is plenty of time.

One thing your dealer should be able to provide you with is an order number. That does not mean GM has accepted it into production but it is the minimum they can do to get the process started.

Thanks for the reply- I got an order number from the dealer that when I put it in the chat box on the GM site, said the order was accepted, the production date was 1/19/2026. Nothing I ordered is on constraint. I was a member of the goat rodeo for 11 months with the 2023, and I was hoping it’s not that bad now. The salesman says no, but I guess I’m going to find out

You have a production week. After that, it is up to GM logistics. I have noticed it getting better. After production, it seems it might now only take 1-2 months to get to the dealer. Still not great, but better than before. Only variable is the how the winter weather might impact things.

Sounds like you will have your car late winter/early spring. Waiting sucks, but it sounds like the timing is good for you to enjoy the spring with the car.

BTW, nice looking dog. My grandfather had a farm and always had Shepards. Great dogs.

Is CF on constraint currently?

lol @ asking a dealer. They always have the inside scoop...

Exactly. While I was waiting the 11 months for my 2023 blackwing, my salesman ( whom I actually like ), really didn’t have a clue what was going on. I was merely curious about the experiences others have had with delivery times currently, as the salesman said it’s nowhere near as bad as it was then.

Why are you asking a stranger on a forum? Ask your Dealer
As if they're going to tell you something other than "what you want to hear".

I had a build date of 10/9/25, car was delivered to dealership on Texas at the end of October.

My 26', also traded a 23', went from order to delivery in less that 2 months. Mine was an early build. Car number 86 090. Key is that GM accepted the order. You'll be fine and worth waiting for.

Well life is full of risk isnt it. If you dont have enough life experience to smell bullshit and get a second, third, or tenth opinion from the actual people selling the cars then maybe just stay indoors. Some people just arent ready for life.
