CT4-V 4BW issues the dealer can’t figure out

Cadillac CT4-V model
Does it only happen when you hit a bump or pothole? When you turn?

did they put it on a lift then try to grab the wheel and jostle it around to see if they can get it to make the noise? Check the rear cradle bushings and bolts?

Do you notice a performance issue? I retired from chasing mystery sounds a long time ago and recommend the same to others if you want to keep your hair.

Much easier to diagnose a performance issue and if there isnt a performance issue…. Is there really an issue?

No performance concerns but a loud clunk/bang over certain bumps is enough for me to be disappointed in a $65,000 car. Couple that with the intermittent AC issue.

Small update if anyone cares. I requested a buyback on the vehicle, my Cadillac case manager felt it met the criteria. I’m waiting to hear back if the district manager approves the buyback. Considering getting a 2026 4BW if they can get me into one, but the dealer/warranty experience is awful, so I will probably end up getting a GT350 instead.

Be warned that the factory warranty’s on the Shelby 350 are long over now. I’ve not been on those forums in a while, so I don’t know if all the oil consumption problems are done and over

I’m aware, I am looking at Gen 2, 2019-2020 which are supposed to have fixed the oil consumption problems. I’m also a Ford senior master tech so I can take care of any repairs and maintenance (and get parts at huge discount).

I am really sorry to hear about the issues you've had with your car. The 4BW is one of the best driving high performance cars I've ever had the pleasure if driving and I may end up getting one to sit next to my 5BW.

But . . . I also have a 2020 GT350R and you will LOVE the Voodoo experience if you find one. You are in a win-win situation to be honest.

I had a 2019 GT350 that I purchased new. Oil consumption was a real problem for the early models, but Ford addressed the issue for the 2019/2020 model years. In 9,200 miles, mine didn't use/burn a drop of oil. Absolutely loved the car and hated to see it go, but after owning it for 4-1/2 years, it was time to move on to something else, before V-8 manual transmission vehicles became obsolete. Selling it for more than what I paid for it, didn't hurt either. However, I refused to sell it until the Blackwing was in my garage. God forbid, the Blackwing didn't come to fruition and I had already sold it. If you can find a good low mileage, unmolested one, you won't be disappointed.
