Fit and Finish Issues - '23 4BW

Picked it up yesterday, noticed it today. Tried fixing it but it won't latch. I'll try to solve the creaking on the driver's side next.View attachment 25442
I would try and remove. Make sure none of the clips are backwards or bent.

Wow. Is this brand new or used? That’s pretty bad
Brand new! It was received by a dealer that did the initial clean/prep and then picked up the next day by the dealer I purchased it from (dealer/order trade). Essentially it was missed by the factory and 2 dealers. 🤨 This is our first domestic car and I'm already worried.

I don't feel like messing with it and have the dealer blame me for making it worse. They shop isn't too far and I have to go to that part of town for work tomorrow anyway.

That was my exact thought. Hope they get it squared away for you.

It could be the headliner towards the back where it meets the rear window. Mine was loose, it would move up and down if pressed. I wedged some foam/rubber material on either side which helped tighten it up and reduced the noise it made over bumps.

I'll give that a shot, thanks!

Warped panel, dealer ordered a new one. I'm glad I didn't hit it too hard with my purse .
Glad it was a simple fix.

I successfully diagnosed this issue finally and was very proud until I came back here to post about it and remembered that you had suggested this months ago.

This was indeed my issue. While i can induce a buzz by thumping on the decklid, all the noise I hear over bumps is from the headliner in the area of the third brake light. I found some scraps of Thinsulate and stuffed them back there. It seemed to help when thumping on the inside of the roof, but not the outside. It's pretty bad. I'll see if it makes a difference while driving but I'm not hopeful given the results shown in the video.

GM gonna GM. Unfortunately their quality issues trickle all the way up.

The phone charger works intermittently with my Pixel 6 as well. It also doesn't keep it in place during spirited driving.

Finally got my car to the dealer:

sunroof noise = “it needs a new seal but they are back ordered“
That's some progress.

I just finished my quality survey and I didn't hold back.

My a-pillar trim is broken from the factory, and the passenger side door trims were making contact. I fixed those with a dead blow hammer and got them aligned perfectly without any damage other than the paint chip which I'll touch up.

I was able to solve this one.

The trim around the third brake light is separate from the rest of the headliner, and just pulls out with clips.

Once under there, the plastic bracket holding the third brake is visible. It's bolted to the roof of the car and didn't move much. However, a separate black plastic bracket attached to the headliner surrounds it, and that was just held up with clips.

Pull down on those (red arrows), and you can see the underside of roof and the inside of the headliner. There's some dynamat-y material holding down the wires to the antenna that had come loose. I wedged some spare foam rubber between that and the headliner.

Finally, I sandwiched a strip of Thinsulate between the headliner bracket and the third brake light bracket (second pic).

I hope it helps quell the noise heard inside. Unfortunately, I can’t offer a suggestion for dealing with the noise heard in the video.

Edit: I read your following post that you solved the problem. Thanks for the info and photos.

I took apart my A-Pillar over the weekend. One of the tabs is broken.
Someone just ham fisted the install from the factory.

I'll take it off and see if I can use a heat gun and massage the plastic tab back into proper alignment.

Anyone have a buzzing/rattle noise coming from center screen area? Could be the chrome trim on top of the screen. It’s driving me crazy lol

Thanks for posting this. I had a buzzing that appeared only in a narrow rev range while climbing a moderate hill, mainly in 5th just below 50 mph. It sounded like a screw loose under the console. I never thought of pressing on the trim on top of the screen until I read your post since it seemed to come from much lower, but pressing on it killed the buzz. Pressing down harder seems to have fixed it permanently. I hope you can find as easy a fix.
