Most annoying issue, solved! I can get back Home Screen after using the camera!

EDIT! The dealer has a software fix for this. I had to get my head unit reflashed under warranty and this fixed it! The Home button now works.

It’s with great excitement that I figured out how to get back to the Home Screen after using the camera/backing up. You hold the VOL/POWER button for 3 seconds!

Ironically the home button does not work like I think it should to return you to home. But in any other screen you hold HOME (2 seconds) and it returns you to CarPlay!

Cool ! Now here is the challenge, figure out the same solution for MY25, where there is no Vol button :boogie

Incredible, great tip. I would cycle the parking brake to clear the camera screen, but this is much better.

I think that was a big miss on Caddy part. No volume knob? how does the passenger change the volume??? besides the steering wheel slow adjust button)

You are making me want to keep my 2022... the OG :)

I only had MY25 for few days and it drove me CRAZY!!! No quick way to change volume or mute it (or at least I did not find it).

Since they have other vehicles where they have integrated volume knob with same screen setup, I don't know why they skipped it with 5BW.

The steering wheel buttons control volume on the right and mute on the left (phone handset icon with X).

There is a screen controlled volume, but you need to dig down to it via the sound menu, so it’s not quick to get to.

Just did a 600 mile road trip with my 2025, still figuring stuff out…

Google Assistant is another way to quickly adjust volume, but it doesn't bring up the screen.

"Hey Google, lower the volume"

You can even whisper it. I am amazed how sensitive it is with its listening.

I'm not a fan of talking to machines, but I guess I better start getting used to it, certainly not going away in this world...

I've become familiar with the lack of volume knob over time, so while it isn't awesome, it's livable. What I have NOT gotten used to is the stupid door handles and the "pull a little, but not too much, hahahaha it's stuck try again" nonsense.

can you elaborate? I've not heard of this one. is this a new 2025 ism?

Yeah, I prefer movable handles, but I've also found that the unlock feature is very picky to how close your key is to the car. That's what makes you pull multiple times, I think.

It was too picky, so I turned off the auto-lock feature. I don't lock the car manually at work or at home, so it cut down on my ag-factor.

Not new for 25. The handles are a button instead of actually moving or mechanical feel. There is also often a delay between pressing the button and it actuating inside the door. It also only actuates for a moment. This means if you pull to early it does nothing. If you pull too late it moves a little and relatches. You have to time it just perfectly to smoothly open the door.

Probably already mentioned multiple times but since I just got mine back from an engine + SC replacement, the small tank ofc but more specifically, the angle you need to take to stop the overfill mechanism from engaging. This could be a cali or station specific thing but 90% of the time the holding lever/trigger never works even on the lowest setting for an auto fill/stop option either.

No delay on my 22 or 24. Press the button and the door pops open. I don't need to time it at all on mine.

On the stock wheels, why is the flag on the left side of the V? It should be to the right side like every other V logo. In other words, the V should be right side up when it is on the left side, not the right. Minor nit to pick but it has always bugged me.

This makes me feel better actually because the cheap Chinese (soon to be expensive Chinese) puddle lights I got have the V logo reversed on the passenger side.

Maybe this has already been mentioned in this 17 page thread, but perhaps one thing I don't like about my 5BW is... that it's a Cadillac.

After 1100 miles of driving my new 2025 5BW, I'm wondering if perhaps I've taken my tendency for buying Sleepers too far.

I think the Cadillac brand has so much legacy baggage being perceived as an "old man" car, and the fact that I'm a (prematurely) gray head driving a baby blue sedan, just makes this car completely invisible from the outside.

The driving experience, with the manual trans, is 100% amazing, but I wish Caddy had broken the mold a bit more with the exterior styling of this model, like what Audi and AMG do. Some fat fenders, maybe.

Just needs a touch more "IYKYK" factor to overcome the old man perception...

Previous gen ATS and CTS had more aggressive styling IMO.

I know what you're saying, but as soon as people hear my 5... they know. I get approached almost weekly and don't even have CF or the Blackwing badge (they mailed ours for MY 22 about 6 months after I got it... and it's still sitting in my desk drawer).

I love the sleeper aspect. That to me was one of the coolest things about the E39 M5 which I hear Cadillac tried to benchmark for the 5BW.

I've got gray, no CF, and a 2022 model that doesn't even have Blackwing badges. I like to think I fly under the radar, but even still I've had random dudes walk up and complement the car at gas stations, costco, you name it ... but thankfully not so many teenagers in Hondas trying to race :)
