Totaled?

Totaled! Take it from a dude who's been in more totaled vehicles than probably most. Not all my fault either but hey you were in the wrong place at the wrong time.....nothing more to it. Sorry, my man!

We always told our customers , that these cars today are designed to crumble and dissipate the crash energy , so that you can survive. We were shown back in the early 80's, a high speed crash video. The car sustained a moderate front end hit. In the footage, you actually watch the car ripple like a "Slinky" from the impact and the taillight lens breaks. Looking at the car after the crash, it looks like only the front driver side needs repairs. When in actuality, the entire car was warped. Total loss.

Did you grab the SVR footage also? That might be interesting.
Great point! I only remembered the SVR after I was back home in WI. I cleaned out the trunk and missed it, though I was a bit rattled - and the trunk had a whole lot of stuff in it, including my bike and a chainsaw! 🤣

Wow, what insurance company do you use? Given how much the cost of these cars has gone up over the years, you are really making out given the crappy situation you were put in.
It is through Cincinnati and my agent included some sort of add-on (Capstone Auto Endorsement) that provided the extra coverage for replacement cost. Many companies will offer replacement cost as a stand alone coverage you can add, but usually it has to be added close in time to when you buy it new.

Also, since I had a 2024, I had already started with a much higher MSRP, so not a big windfall there. Mostly just avoiding depreciation from new.

Got it, that makes sense and you are right given yours was a 2024 model. Hopefully you are a fan of the new front end and interior screens. Best of luck to you and your new build

what was your spec? theres a dealer local to me who has a few
Interesting! I had a 6MT with mid level sky cool gray seats, PDR, sunroof, parking package, graphite wheels, red brake calipers and seatbelts. No extra carbon fiber. It came from a dealer lot in Lansing, so it wasn't exactly what I would have ordered. If I order, I would not get a sunroof and would go for the high-end semi-aniline leather seats in sky cool gray. Probably keep red calipers and seat belts and also not add any carbon fiber. Dark wheels would depend on the color I get - I'm OK with contrasting wheels, but am not a big fan of dark wheels on a car with dark paint. YMMV. Thanks!

bike and chainsaw.... is this a new form of polo or battle bikes I haven't heard of yet?

if you prefer the pre-facelift version, this one is similar to your old one but with black interior and no sunroof or PDR.

Thanks for the reference! I prefer the prior front end but actually like the giant screen, so I could go either way. But getting a new one for no additional out of pocket is too good to pass up, so that's what I will try to do.

I agree fresh and new is the way to go! Although, I am not really a fan of the screen? I will have to check one out on the lot before I dismiss it completely. But I guess for once in my life I lucked out with the front end I like and the MSRP I like on my 22.....Dear God I hope nothing happens to mine like what happened to you.
