Spring Mountain Impressions

No.

I downloaded CosWorth and have all data points but no audio. It's something they had to setup at Spring Mountain.
It's nice to hear the engine for sure, but TBH I think I might prefer no sound to all the shouting over the walkie-talkie  I actually had mine turned down a fair bit when I wasn't right behind the instructor, as I found it not that helpful to hear what someone is doing a couple corners ahead of you... like some dodgy stream where the audio and video don't line up.

I was also there in the 15th and 16th. What a great time!

Some additional thoughts on the experience. The instructors were very helpful and great at coaching you while driving at speed. The skid pad was a blast. It really helped me understand how the car would react if I ever get it pushed to that point. Lastly I need to get my V button setup with the double click.

Is it really necessary to make any reservations at the local restaurants or was it easy for the most part to get seated at most places? My wife & I are fairly simple to please and plan to eat at some fancy places in Vegas after the track days. Trying to decide as we will be there Easter weekend.

I reccommend the local Indian/Pizza place, I forget the name. It was good and I was able to just walk in and order takeout.

I saw that SM has it's own restaurant. Is it just a bar and appetizers or a "real" restaurant? I thought I saw somewhere something about "limited menu".

On that note, has anyone gone to the casino in town and ate at one of those restaurants? Or mom's diner?

Thanks Steve. I really want to avoid the fast food crap and saw Mom's. Thought it might be something different.

The Spring Mountain dining area is not like a restaurant. The morning and afternoon meals are buffet style. I didn't go to the evening meet and greet, but would assume its a limited buffet also. The first night we arrived at SM, we settled into our condo room and then drove back into Vegas and ate at a diner called Black Bear Diner. They are apparently everywhere out west. I wish we had them on the east coast, good food and reasonable prices. The second night we just ate at the local Pahrump Panda Express Chinese place. When the V Academy was done, we went to Vegas for the rest of the week and stayed with my cousins at the Marriott Grand Chateau (time share). All of the Vegas restaurants in the casinos are very high priced. We went to the Silverton Casino that is off strip and had a nice steak dinner at their restaurant "Twin Creeks". Not as expensive as the popular casino restaurants. I watched on You Tube alot of videos by "Travel Ruby". She hits almost everywhere in Vegas and gives honest reviews. We ate lunch at Caesars Palace food court. 3 slices of pizza, 1 Coke 1 water and the price was almost $60 !! You don't go to Vegas to save money, that's for sure. I saw the Cirque du Soleil Show (Ka) at the MGM Grand. All the Cirque shows are good. Went to Zak Bagans Haunted Museum (save your money). Saw a Golden Knights vs. Rangers hockey game. I heard the Shelby Museum is pretty good, although I didn't fit that in.
Also....SM has a shooting range if you are so inclined to bring a firearm.

Nobody with the good taste to drive a CT4-V Blackwing would miss an opportunity to enjoy some onion bhajis.
That's my wife and I's go to appetizer lol.

We ate dinner after the first day at the SM's own restaurant. We thought about going into town but between the torrential rain storm and the fussy baby we just wanted to eat something quick so we did dinner at the club house at SM. It's 25 dollars a person but honestly the food at dinner isn't as good as the provided food at breakfast and lunch so if you can head out, definitely head out.
