where at in Iraq? I've been in BIAP, Al Asad, Basrah, Balad, Al Kut, Al Amarah, Erbil...and a couple of remote out stations in my 22 yr career. some how I was always able to avoid TQ, Ramadi, and the Fallujah areas.

Traveled through BIAP to Balad (where I worked). The last 6 months there we started going through Erbil though. Huge difference .
If I got back overseas again/soon it will most likely be Afghanistan.
Never deployed with the military (guard baby) but spent about a year total in Iraq

yes, Erbil feels like a completely different country.

That is correct. Went back to a “weekend warrior” a couple years ago.
