CT5-V The Eagle has landed (finally)

CT5-V Model
Nice ride man! It's an awesome feeling to get the exact one you want.
Thanks. In the end it was worth the wait (and the first sales guy's scarcely believable BS). And I have yet to hit 100mi... Or fill the tank with "high octane" 91 at CA gas prices ☹️

You have an E30 ya? Post a photo if you've got one handy.

Already did my man.

It's a shame, I'm in Louisiana with access to 93 at the pump, and 93 Ethanol free.

Cherry. Nice job on the resto. Did you do it yourself? Wish my dash were pristine and uncracked.

Is that a Wilwood BBK I spot up front?

Yea, bummer about the 91oct. But it is what it is. Consider yourself lucky- 93 and at way cheaper prices...
I bought that dash on eBay, came all the way from Serbia, lol. I keep the car garaged so it stays in good shape.
That is indeed a Wilwood BBK from MassiveBrakes. With dusty as hell race pads.

93 Octane at cheap prices but, swamp-ass 8 months out of the year. Also, hurricanes.

Do you still have the link for that Ebay dash? I have a suede dash cover now hiding lots of ugliness...

How is the BBK? If it is the same as https://store.uucmotorwerks.com/big...ont-84-91-e30-325320318-all-incl-ix-p563.aspx, which I presume it is, does not look overly pricey or difficult to install. And seems to use fairly common replacement rotors.

Fair point. Reminds me of the viral video years ago of the guy who moved his E30 M3 into his living room to avoid a massive storm, down there or in FL I think.

Dude, I bought that dash back in 2018, it was a one off.

I got the brake mounting kit from MassiveBrakes.com
I originally had the UUC kit but I like the fitment from Massive more.

The caliper and rotor I got from Summit Racing.

Ah, got it. Quite the international shipping trip if it came from Serbia. Was it a repop or pristine OEM/NOS?

Interesting. So the UUC and Massive kits both use Wilwood calipers but are not the same? I will have to look up Massive. Does it offer clearance for bigger rotors or just more clearance for lower-offset wheels?
This is all I could find with a quick eBay search.

Yea good ones can be found out there still, usually for an arm and at least 1/2 a leg.

Thanks for posting the link to your build, I will have to take some time and read up on that.

It was a fair condition crack-free dash. It has some fading. It was also incredibly dusty. Took quite a while to clean all that dust out of the HVAC ducts. I didn't know Serbia had a desert region. IIFC It was $500 or so, $350 for the dash, the rest to ship.

A lot of re-pop E30 parts are made in Latvia, so I was used to international shipping during my rebuild.

I think the biggest difference is in the calipers and the fitment of the adapter bracket. The Massive unit went in like OEM, the UUC was a little meh. Also the pads are much larger on the Massive kit.

Both are probably fine and are a massive upgrade over the stock calipers.
