OK, no, seriously, I don't want a M-B, but I do need Christmas ideas. For me. Or more accurately, for the kids (27 & 30) to buy for me. Everything I need, I buy, which makes it hard for others to shop for. Except perhaps fancy Swiss watches, which are out of their budget range anyway.

Any sub-$100 suggestions?

There are always gift cards. My kids have bought me Harbor Freight in the past since I shop there a lot. And Amazon for more generic stuff. They have also given me Omaha Steaks certificates too.

Reminds me of the time, as a kid, that I had won some type of bet from my dad and the payoff was a dirt bike that I wanted so so badly. He confirmed that he got it so, me and my best friend waited patiently for him to come home from work to see it in the back of his truck. You guessed it...

My kid had been bugging for a golf cart forever. Mind you, she has immediate access to dirt bikes, four wheelers, snowmobiles, KT100 Margay. Nope, she wanted the golf cart. Well dad got her what she wanted but in model size. She's still pissed about that one but in a fun way. She starts driving next year so the real thing(car) is on the horizon.

Our youngest is away at school and always drives my car when he's home. He did promise me a nice car in exchange when he makes it big! Having the kids home (and killing it at school) is all the Xmas gift I need.

In my house, actually when my future wife and I were dating, I smacked down Valentines day early on. Dropping a few random signs of affection throughout the year is way more meaningful than indulging in all that contrived nonsense in February.

At the risk of changing my screen name to JEbenezer, we've totally deemphasized gifts for Christmas. We get the girls a few things, but we're not wanting for anything. Time is the most valuable thing we have and we like spending that together, particularly when its on a warm island in December, Merry Christmas kids!

This is a great idea. I'm shit at gift giving and also telling people what I want for gifts, but I can always get down with some meats.

And yes, I concur with your other post... I try to avoid that whole gift-giving thing, but the wife insists and the (step) kids were brought up under the philosophy that you show your love by buying stuff. I do what I can, but years of indoctrination are hard to overcome.
