retrofitting CT5 display in CT4

Has anybody used GM DPS?

@jonnywaffles11 hey man did you or is it possible to have the ct4 radio rear cover screw onto the ct5 radio backing? That could help with fitment of the ct5 radio in the ct4.

As for the weird display, I'd bet that with the gm tool and programming the radio could look like oem. But then comes the task of fitment in the dash without molesting the dash... Im currently looking into this, but ran into the same screen you saw and I have the same year model and trim of radio..

Every part is different tbetween the ct4 and ct5, there should be photos in this thread that I have of the backs. My plan for this once I figured out the screen issue was to do a custom molded housing to drop in to the current ct4 dash. Likely would sit forward a negligible amount but would be doable and look fine. The screen tiling is what made this DOA

I've gotten close but not quite. I have gotten the system to display correctly, but the issue now is it glitches and doesn't stay stable. It's like it blinks and wants to turn on and off alot. Here's a picture of it when running... just wish it stayed and it would be done! Everything still works too, touchscreen input points, apps, everything! Just glitches on and off alot. Its SO close but so far away. We think maybe another VIN grab or possibly module needs programming for it to work correctly all the way.

If you could get that molding that would be awesome! Make it a perfect drop in fitment with a custom backing. Mine looks UGLY from the back lol

I emailed them and the said they could likely do it depending on the specifics of the radio. I replied back ready to give any info needed but never heard back.

There's 2 big hurdles on this project.

1st is programming, but I think it can be done.

2nd is fitment. The screen is quite bigger and fitment is tough though I don't think impossible

It's most likely refresh rate setting in the coding. Or you have a poor physical connection.
