Here's an odd thing that happened when I was inflating my rear driver's side tire. I had a low pressure indication so I pulled out my inflator and started to pump. As I was doing so, I noticed that the driver's rear taillight flashed. Not both, just the one closest to me. Is that normal? If so, kinda a cool feature.

In addition, I'm looking to replace my inflator. Anyone have a recommendation? My current one from my 2009 Miata is on it's last legs. I bought one of those handheld ones on Amazon and that POS is going back. Nothing fancy needed, just powerful enough to inflate car tires in a reasonable amount of time. Does NOT need to be battery powered.

Some owners manual excerpts

Tire Fill Alert (If Equipped)
This feature provides visual and
audible alerts outside the vehicle to
help when inflating an underinflated
tire to the recommended cold tire
pressure.
When the low tire pressure warning
light comes on:
1. Park the vehicle in a safe, level
place.
2. Set the parking brake firmly.
3. Place the vehicle in P (Park).
4. Add air to the tire that is
underinflated. The turn signal lamp
will flash.
When the recommended pressure
is reached, the horn sounds once
and the turn signal lamp will stop
flashing and briefly turn solid.

If the tire is overinflated by more than
35 kPa (5 psi), the horn will sound
multiple times and the turn signal
lamp will continue to flash for several
seconds after filling stops. To release
and correct the pressure, while the
turn signal lamp is still flashing,
briefly press the center of the valve
stem. When the recommended
pressure is reached, the horn
sounds once.
If the turn signal lamp does not flash
within 15 seconds after starting to
inflate the tire, the tire fill alert has
not been activated or is not working.
If the hazard warning flashers are on,
the tire fill alert visual feedback will
not work properly.

For an inflator, I'm fond of the small brick style Fanttik one I bought at Costco last year. They seem to currently have a larger multi-function one now which I'm sure works well but I prefer the smaller one.

Thanks, I didn't even think about Costco, was there yesterday. I'm going bigger than a brick cuz I'm used to fast inflation and the bricks take too long for me.

Then their current offering at Costco is the one for you as they cite things like inflatable paddle boards. I like the Fanttik units as they give you a pressure read out and are automatic set it and forget it for hitting target pressure.

I have a Viair 70 P, part number 00073. It fits in the right trunk storage pocket. HF has one that is a similar copy.

Well, that's a very cool feature. I don't remember reading that in the book. In the words of that guy in the commercial..."Who knew"

Edit: I see you have a 2025. Maybe that's a new feature.

What I quoted was out of a 2022 owners manual. :)

Of course, if you're at Costco you should adjust pressures there with their nitrogen pumps and preset pressures.
