Order Question

My friend was told that they had an allocation for his 2022 order. I asked him what his allocation # was (which is really 6 letters) and he said he didn't know. I told him to ask the dealer. When they couldn't provide one for him , I told him he DID NOT have a car ordered. When he confronted them, they confessed that they didn't put an order in. He had to re-order a 2023 and the same exact spec car cost him $7000 more!
It used to be nice just calling Jack Gray Transport and they would tell you where your car was. They went out of business after something like 100 years !

that's good news. Happy for you. Hopefully it comes this year. Mine is still have 3400 even though it was supposed to be built last week. Not my first time through this. Its a good test of patience
Did yours get built yet? I just got an update that mine is due for production week of 12/1

yeah mine went to produced and ready to ship early last week. I don't think it has shipped yet, but it does now show on my dealers website as "in transit" so hopefully soon. The original car I ordered (got damaged before delivery) still shows on their site too though even though Sewell bought it as a CPO and sold has since sold it. I believe once the car is invoiced (built), cadillac loads it onto your dealers website as inventory.

Interesting that yours is scheduled for 12/1. I had thought GM closed its factories in December, maybe that's the last week of production before they close the factory. From your production week I would not think it will get delivered by year end, but hopefully early in January.

Oh nice hopefully you have it soon.

Honestly this is moving much quicker than I thought it would - mid January would be completely fine as far as I'm concerned. I got worried early on since I was told there was an allocation and there obviously wasn't, but they got one quick. Not sure if lucky or just easier to get them now than it was in years past. The dealer I got it through is definitely not a high volume dealer.

Last year this is not how it was going for ct4s. It seems like a last push for the EOL of the car. Last run I think is spring 2026.

4BW seem out shadowed by 5BW and think the 4s are amazing. It might be wishful thinking, but I think the 4BWs will hold their value really well. Low production, never really took off in popularity (most people got m3s) and now Cadillac isn't going to make a replacement... that is usually a recipe for a car to hold its value in years to come. Well at least for manual ones, I don't know how the used market goes for automatic cars.

My car just got delivered. Caught myself and the dealer off guard. 1.5 weeks for delivery is FAST for my area; I'm in the PNW.
if they ship your car as quick, you could have a nice year end gift.

Its weird to have to go buy new tires ASAP after buying a brand new car (haven't bought it yet). I need tires that can handle cold weather and ice. PS4 all seasons, had them on my golf R and really like them for the weather in my area.

The dealer is over an hour away. I have 3 kids with soccer, basketball and a B-day party all week... I can't get it until saturday... 😥

Its going to be a long week. I only slept a few hours last night due to restlessness from excitement. I originally ordered car in October 2024, but due to a string of frustrating circumstances I am finally getting this car (not the first car produced for me).

Mine is supposed to be built this week; the AI advisor is still saying that the TPW is this week and I'm hoping that doesn't slip. Then it's the hopefully-not-that-long-a-wait till it gets to Dustin at Sewell in Dallas. Maybe I'll have an early Christmas present.

I had a TPW of 10/6. It was built around then & was delivered to Sewell on 10/28 last month. After that, Sewell likes to close on the paperwork within 3 days of delivery. I was getting emails from Cadillac directly as well as Dustin during that whole time with updates. If you plan on financing, make sure your prepped with everything by time the email from Cadillac comes in saying it's at the dealer.

Here's hoping they stick with your TPW!
