CT5-V Is it possible to turn the engine on without starting the engine?

2025 5BW with the 6 speed. In my C6 Z06 if I push the start button without depressing the clutch, I can use a scan tool without running the engine. With the CT5 I just get a popup that tells me to press the clutch (and it does not say to also press the brake -- something I had to figure out on my own the first time I drove the car).

I thought about starting then engine and then purposely stalling it but I hate to abuse the clutch and engine that way...

Is there some trick I'm missing?

Are you talking about getting into service mode? Hold the start button for 5 seconds and it will turn on without starting the engine.

I would call it "run" mode and I think it's silly they call it "service" mode but whatever...

And it's completely identical to the "run" position my first three cars had. You put the key in the ignition, the first click was accessory power, the second click was run, the third was the starter motor.

Even my C6 goes into run mode if I press the upper start button without depressing the clutch.

Yeah, I guess they had to change the name to keep up with modern times, LOL. You'll notice they did away with accy (accessory) mode.

I love the convenience of the keyless feature without having to take out of your pocket or do any real work with a key. I'm sure there's a way to convert it or use the emergency key feature if you need to manually open the door or perhaps start the vehicle. Not sure how that would work but I'm sure it's been posted before here or elsewhere.
