Do the rear bumper covers on the CT4 fit flush against the quarter panel seam?

I ask because I just had the tail lights replaced under warranty (delamination) and notice that the rear bumper cover sticks out a bit beyond the quarter panel near the wheel well.
It's the same on both sides. I looked at old pictures and can't really tell.

It doesn't look right, but thought I'd ask before taking it back (or adjusting it myself).

photo attached.

thanks!

Looks to me like the wheel liner is not tucked behind the quarter panel and the bumper cover. Should be an easy fix. About where you middle finger is in the 2nd picture, carefully pull out on the panels just enough to tuck the liner in behind the lip.

Mine is flush. There is a row of clips along that seam and if the clips weren't damaged when uninstalled they may just not be engaged fully. You might try to loosen some of the screws in that area and then try to push it together to get the clips to click in. These are images from the service manual for the screws in that area and the clips.

thank you, really appreciate it!

The side rear bumper bodylines are all over the place on CT4s and CT5s. I've seen your issue before, I've seen wavy top edges of the rear bumper, I've seen poor alignment to the trunk, and the arch not aligned between bumper and wheel well. Sometimes all of these issues together! Now that we're talking about it you'll notice similar on others' often. Whenever I see a picture of a CT4 or CT5 I zoom into this spot and about 50% of the time there's something. Some are perfect though.

I sometimes think my rig was painted and had its exterior put together at 2:50pm on a Friday before a holiday weekend, lol.. A wavy upper bumper gap is the only knit-picky body issue left on my car I notice after a lot of exterior dealer rework via warranty upon delivery. Everything else about the car is perfect though and "it's GM" so I'm getting over it.

Your bumper cover was probably taken off, which can make these defects more apparent, but you'd need to ask whoever did your rear lamp replacement: CT4-V - DIY Tail Light Replacement

Good luck w/ your fix!

I also had a taillight changed by the dealer when I first got my car. When I got it back it looked like crap with the alignment of the bumper to 1/4 panels. Trunk wouldn't shut nicely sometimes too. I took it back and they agreed to fix it. That 2nd time they had their special vette tech work on it, who wasn't available the first time. They had to order a bunch of new clips and after that it was good. Trunk still gives me an issue 1 out of 30 or so times. But yea, clips are either broken or not fully engaged.

Needless to say, they won't be touching my car for stuff I can do. When I had the carbon fiber trim on the drivers door panel replaced under warranty, I had them order and give me the part. After I swapped it, I brought them the old one back.
