Blackwing bucket seats?

Hi All,

New to the forum, and new to Cadillacs in general (I usually tend to be more of a euro car guy), but I've put down a reserve on the CT4-V Blackwing, and I'm trying to option it out based on the info I've gathered from this thread. To that end, I'm trying to decide on trim/seating. While I would like to go all leather, I don't really feel like it's worth a $5,000 premium over the leatherette. Also, I've heard Cadillac's leather tends to be a bit more prone to tearing, as it is somewhat thin, so another mark for leatherette. However, I noticed that the "High Performance" bucket seats require jumping up to the leather/performance cloth option. Seeing as how leatherette comes with bucket seats, how much better are these high performance seats? I know better is a subjective term, but I can't even find pictures comparing the two, and any input on the matter is appreciated. I've already pretty much decided on the climate package by the way, so that won't really be a factor in this decision.

has anyone found the link to the configuration tool or is it not up and ready? it is not under "build and price" yet.

I just chatted with BW specialist ("Tom") through the Cadillac website. He said the online Build/Price configurator on the website would not be updated to include the Blackwings until the end of March, though he admitted that there has been high demand for it. As of now, we are limited to just using the Order Guide. There is apparently no way to preview your order. :(

thanks, I just did the same and he could not answer when it would be up ... just said I could order with my dealership.

What a load of crap.

They need to release more pics of the seats, etc.

Also, some pics from he side, rear, etc in the different colors.

If they are like the Corvette Concierge then their info can be pretty hit or miss on accuracy.

Have you looked at the 360 view of the interior in the online brochure? I thought that was pretty good, although I really would like answers to questions like power adjustments and comfort changes at the different seat trims (e.g. is the foam stiffer?)

You can get a half decent view through the online brochure:

You can do a 360-view of the various seat options that are available though don't really get a good straight-on view of the seating surfaces of the front seats.

Yeah but it shows quilted without carbon fiber backs. But on the order book it doesn’t show quilted with carbon fiber back.

Maybe I am missing something.

Wife wants black quilted seats. I want the carbon fiber backs.

Which seats have the red stripe down the middle?

d.

red stripe seats are semi-aniline seats ... $6k option ... but I do not know what the power (heat/vent) differences in the seats are?

The only quilting that

Based on the online brochure, I believe the red stripe down the center are included in the following:

CT4V-V BW: only the Jet black interior with high-perf sueded micro-fiber and leather seating surfaces with sueded-microfiber seatback

CT5-V BW: any of the three high-perf seats with carbon fiber seatback

As for the quilting, from what I can see in the brochures, only the high performance seats with suede backs have a classic quilting pattern on most of the seating surface area.

While the high performance seats with carbon fiber backs only have a quilt-like pattern near the shoulder area of the front seats only. If you look at C&D's photos of the CT5, you can see this in photos #24-27:

Important to note that the CT4 does not have a high perf seating option with carbon fiber backs based on photos and the order guide. Only suede is available.

Looks like 3 different black seat options.

Hopefully the config comes up soon.

Has anybody placed their order yet?

I wonder when the cutoff is for the initial orders.

Anybody heard how the numbers will be assigned? By reservation, order, or build?

My dealer said that orders for the initial run will be accepted from Feb 10 thru March 18. Not sure how numbers will be assigned though. I emailed him the specs for my order last night, though asked him to hold off submitting until he gets absolute confirmation that the high perf seats have all of the features of the standard ones. Hopefully will hear back today.

Let us know what you find out.

What are you planning on ordering?

D.
As of now, CT5 (A10 tranny) in infrared tintcoat with high perf seats (jet black semi-aniline with Carbon Fiber backs) + red torch seat belts. Adding driver assist and parking packages. Outside will be satin graphite wheels, both carbon fiber packages, black mirror caps, and the CC brakes.

Still debating on the CCB given track days will be limited. Most appealing is the reduced brake dust but hard to justify the price of admission on that alone. Also a bit concerned about squealing. Hit or miss as they are either silent or sound like a stuck pig.

Cool deal.

I have the CCB on my 19 ZR1 - they are amazing.

We are thinking electric blue with black quilt (hopefully with CF backs) 6 speed manual carbon 1 and 2. CCB brakes. Still looking at the other stuff.

Yes, I've been reading through the C7 Z07/ZR1 brembo CCB threads on the vette forums. It seems that the latest iteration has solved many of the earlier issues that people were experiencing (squeal, vibration, etc). So that's really what has me leaning to keep them in the order as of now.

Electric blue looks like a great color. It's seems very close to the C8 Rapid Blue, and once the paint codes are available, it may turn out that they're one in the same. Someone near me has a rapid blue C8 which looks great on that car. But I would like to see multiple photos of the CT5 with it rather than just the front end shot that you can see with the online brochure.

Sure looks like rapid blue to me. We have a rapid blue C8 and love it.

We want an exclusive color on the blackwing. So, that is electric blue or orange.

I think the dark emerald matte is exclusive as well, though not my cup of tea. Of all the colors they could pick to do a matte, can fathom how that one was the top choice.
