2022 ct4v blackwing
Just picked up a 2022 ct4v blackwing with only 7200 miles. Got a CEL a week after driving it for an EVAP code. It's at the dealership being repaired for an EVAP system leak. It's been about 2 months and the dealership is on their 3rd repair. I'm remaining optimistic and I should get it back soon. Dealership first replaced the EVAP canister, then the purge valve and now onto a vent valve. I'm hoping this is the last time I have to go back and deal with this.

Update on the car: I got my car back from the dealership; check engine light came back on immediately. I decided to take the car to my cousins shop because I was sick of the dealership at this point. My cousin found the problem in less than 10 minutes; The purge valve connector wasn't plugged in.

This begs the question; was this the issue from the start? How did they go through 3 diagnostics without noticing? Was this gross negligence? Done on purpose? an innocent mistake?

I've always modified my previous cars and voided the warranties; had never dealt with the dealership before this. My cousin always worked on my cars. I decided that since I bought a car of this caliber I would maintain the factory warranty, purchase the platinum warranty and start using the dealership. This was my first experience with them and having the car gone for 2 months while they fumbled the ball left a bad taste in my mouth.

if this is a smaller local dealer, I highly suggest giving a high-volume BW dealer a shot. May just be worth the drive/tow

You never get a second chance to make a first impression. Good luck finding a dealer with a capable tech.

I use a local race shop for most all maintenance and repair. They are associated with a dealer for warranty work

Fuel tank pressure sensor replaced and the CEL hasn't come back on. They forgot to plug one of the vent valves and half my diffuser was missing screws; they gave it back to me like that reading a hard code. I had to plug in the vent valve, find new screws and clear the code myself. I talked with the service manager just to let him know I've been getting my car back incomplete; it being the second time I've had to do something like this. Either way The pressure sensor got replaced and I'm not seeing a code anymore. I'm not sure I'm 100 percent in the clear but I'm hopeful.

That is definitely frustrating. If you are out of warranty, you might not need to go to a dealer anymore. I partially with @Dark Helmet about using a performance shop, I would just make sure they work on the CT4-V Blackwing regularly. He makes a very good point that performance shops will know you car very well because they have to make adjustments to more than just the performace upgrade they did, so they may have seen those issues before. Also, customers or performance shops will be more picky in a lot of cases so it is unlikely to be returned to you incomplete.
