In case anyone is searching for the CCB front brake pads, GM has an updated part number.
Old: 85143795
New: 86804586

Still made by Pagid. You can tell them apart by the numbers on the back. Old pads are N22 and new pads are N23. Price has just about doubled.
 
Does anyone know the difference between the parts?

$600 for a set of pads is crazy
 
I'm new to CCB so wondering how the pad wear rate compares to traditional iron rotors and performance pads. @nordique14 are you replacing your pads and if so, what are the details (mileage, use, etc.)?
 
I am replacing the pads (likely in about a month after my last track days this year). Since I track the car my experience is not applicable to people who just trundle around town.

I am expecting to get about around 6-7 track days on a set of front pads. Depends on which tracks I visit as some are harder on brakes than others. Rear pads should last about twice as long as the fronts.

Note that $600 is already about half the retail price. Rears are the same cost. There are no alternatives in the aftermarket for pads for the CCB. GM is the only option and they seem to know it.
 
I guess with a big 'ol sedan like the this, the consumables list is expensive.

Are they compatible both ways? Exactly the same dimensions and either can fit any model year 5BW with CCB?

Anyone have any pad life estimates with CCB not doing track days?
 
They look exactly the same. GM has not said what the difference is. Both can be used on the CCB of any year as the calipers are the same across all model years.
 
I wonder if this is a copper thing. I believe the former CCB pads for the 5BW still had copper in them, but California has made that illegal. The CCB pads for the C8 Z06, ZR1, and ERay all have copper-less pads and they're not as performant as the ones with copper (go fig!). This may be GM updating the pads for the 5BW to align with CA regs.

Fucking California.

To be clear: this is just speculation. I don't know for sure.
 
I know with the new ZR1X CCB system they claim the pads last 5x as long as the system used on the Z06. I wonder how much of that is pad material/tech and if they decided to update the material to the same on the blackwing? It would be awesome if they somehow lasted 5x as long at only 2x the price. The ZR1x CCB system uses rotors with a friction coating on them just like with the BW. For some reason they didn't use the friction coating on the z06. Would love to know more about this. Hopefully there is another Brembo zoom club meeting where someone can ask!
