Steve needs to relax.....

Ok, ok. I made a post earlier this week that has my order and what not but my name is Max. North Jersey. Wife and girl, 16 month old emotional terrorist. I am banking on being the token shrink (I'm a psychoanalyst) for all the goats. It would be an honor and privilege of a lifetime.

Lifelong gearhead. Lucky to have driven, 911s, Z06s, Cayman R but this is ostensibly my first personal, real car purchase--I was in school a longgggg time. A decade ago I had to the opportunity to get my SCCA license, completing the 3 and 2 day Skippy schools respectively in formula Dodges at Lime Rock. Incredible experience. In fact, pardon the schadenfreude, a quite arrogant man in the other group (MX-5s) not only managed to slide off track going into the uphill doing significant damage, but he refused to buy insurance "as it was a waste". He, of course, had an e63 M6 which I was drooling over as a college kid.

Thank you goats for the hospitality.

I sincerely cannot wait to meet yous at some C&C and be asked to "analyze" your mothers, with all due respect of course...

My mother does not claim/acknowledge my existence because I shamed our family name years ago.... Ok, party on!

I had a few minutes today and decided to look through some of the threads I haven't looked at before.

My story. I'm 52 recently divorced. I mean freshly divorced from a 26 almost 27 year marriage a couple of weeks ago. The separation and divorce saved our relationship. We are better together now than we've been in years. Sometimes divorce can repair a relationship. I have 4 kids - 24, 22, and twins that are 19. I live in a Chicago suburb.

My first car was a 1987 Mazda 626LX with a 5 speed. Safe to say that car started my love of the stick shift. I traded it in for new '93 Pontiac Grand Prix. That car was the worst vehicle I ever owned. Driving it home from the dealer the night I bought I was already having issues with the radio that would last the entire time I owned it. Radio specialists and many service appointments never could get it fixed. I was quite relieved when I traded it in for a 97 Chevy Tahoe. I stayed with suv's for years until I finally got back into a stick shift in 2013 when I bought a 2010 42,000 mile Acura TL. That was a great car. I only kept it for a couple of years as my ex didn't like all the rocking with the shifting. She loves stick too but the rocking with the gear shifts was too much. I traded that one in 2016 for '13 BMW 535i with the M sport package and a 6 speed. It shifts more smoothly than the Acura and has worked well and it has about 75,000 miles now. It is only a nights and weekends car now. For the first couple of years it was my daily driver. I will be trading in, or selling, the BMW when the BW is finally delivered. I have a VIN but there is no way to know when/if it will ever arrive.

My daily driver for years was the old family 07 Honda Odyssey. When my ex got a new van we kept it as a backup family car. All 4 kids learned to drive on it. That van seriously influenced my choice in BW. I originally ordered a 4BW in December. I kept with that order at a small Cadillac dealer near my house for a few weeks. Then I realized how much I like the Honda Accord(Odyssey) engine. You give it gas, and it goes. There wasn't a complicated computer delaying power delivery. It just went. The responsiveness, in part, made me decide the supercharger was the way to go instead of the turbo on the 4. They are both extremely quick, but that supercharger made me decide to spend even more money. I waited a few months for the 5BW and when the sales manager I was using switched to a much bigger dealer at Heritage Cadillac I moved my order to them. Two months after I placed the order for the 22 they told me they had an allocation for a 23 for me which is now built and showing Delayed. I previously thought all the BW's were ghosts. I'd never seen one before, just the ct4 and ct5. Then a few weeks ago I saw a 5BW. I pulled up next to it and rolled down my windows as he was pulling away. That engine was like music. After all those months of waiting to actually see one, it was really cool. I won't lie. My jaw dropped. I can't wait to get her home. Just waiting on the goats now to be finished her.

That must have been one hell of a mini van.

More importantly are you back with your ex now or are you single and ready to put that 5BW panty dropper to good use? Only downside is that I agree with that post on the "blackwing people pleaser" thread that this car is a massive dick magnet, so definitely check under the hood prior to any test driving.

After almost 27 years of marriage - I am happily single now!!!! Took many years of therapy to get us divorced and happy with each other. A very strange experience I must say -therapy continuing even while you are divorcing. I can't wait to experience all the double takes and people who are interested in it. But that will probably get tired after a while....

It's gonna be all dudes. So far I've gotten a massive reaction from a shirtless old guy on a Harley who almost crashed into me trying to give a thumbs up while also weaving through traffic, a couple of teenage kids who pointed and one snapped a pic on his phone, and a couple of guys sitting on the back of their pickup truck commenting that they didn't know cadillacs came in such a bright color (electric blue). I keep waiting for some hottie to come up to me to ask to show her how to work the stick, but that hasn't happened so far.

My best automotive memory is still when I got my C5 z06 not long after college and I had two chicks in the passenger seat (one sat on the other's lap).
