I had no doubt before the part numbers. That dealership would have been in a lot of trouble if they installed the wrong long block. They aren't that incompetent.Well, yeah, now that we have the part numbers...

My dealer hasn't touched my car yet, but Im quite certain no dealer is going to install the wrong engine.I won’t say that about dealers you might want to check to see how all your wires are routed correctly andif the clips are all connected not brokeas I just spent this morning, correcting mine. Hopefully you got a better job than I did..
Your advisor is correct. Cadillacs don’t require an early oil change—the first one is scheduled at around 5,000 miles. The 500-mile oil change was specific to the LT1 and LT4 engines in the C7 Corvettes with the dry sump oiling system. That system was more complex and carried a higher risk of break-in debris staying in circulation, which could lead to engine damage. The Camaro and Cadillac, with their wet sump systems, don’t have that issue. So since i feel like the break in the advisor told me wasn’t correct (he said “just drive it chill for 500 miles then u can rip it”) and i asked him if i should get a oil change at 500 miles and he said no not till like 5k miles ??!? Like im pretty sure the break in is 500 miles then oil change then still baby it till 1500 then it’s good , what has other people who got the engine replacements advisors tell them
I'm assuming same applies to the diff and transmission oils?Your advisor is correct. Cadillacs don’t require an early oil change—the first one is scheduled at around 5,000 miles. That said, you can certainly do an earlier oil change if it gives you peace of mind, but it won’t make a meaningful difference in engine longevity compared to waiting until 5,000 miles.
Thank you!!! What do you think about the break in he said only 500 milesYour advisor is correct. Cadillacs don’t require an early oil change—the first one is scheduled at around 5,000 miles. The owners manual says 1500, so believe who you will. An early oil change (~1k miles or less) is always a good idea to flush out break-in particles.Thank you!!! What do you think about the break in he said only 500 miles
Any topic remotely related to oil always generates the most friction on any automotive forum. Don’t ask people to read the manual, they would sooner get prostrate surgery than do that. This horse has been beaten so many times. I'm sure a search will show the threads.
And it’s really easy to search the PDF.@rubberduck .....Yeah, I know. I'm one of those old time wackos that actually reads the book. But, there really is a lot of good stuff in there!
I do read it, but at the same time manufacturers are also known for doing sh*t like recommending year old oil changes (looking at you, BMW)... so it's really just seeking a second opinion. The whole 500 miles thing has caused HUGE confusion. First, READ THE BOOK. Tons of great info in there. The 500 is for the reduced RPM's only....that's it. 1500 miles is for everything else. Oil change is one year, or when the DIC says, or 10,000 miles. There is a mention of rear diff change if you're going to track it.

Anything you do above and beyond is up to you.
Curious of your other "at the very least" items? At the very least change the oil filter at 500 and 1500 miles to help protect your investment and consider cutting open the filters and inspecting them.
the irony!Any topic remotely related to oil always generates the most friction on any automotive forum.
