EOS Carbon Fiber

I installed the Tapout rear spoiler on my 4 BW and it uses studs and nuts on the outer corner. It's difficult, but you can do it. I posted some information on doing it here: Carbon fiber PN database.

I prefer using a nylon insert locknut on a stud versus the factory clip because the clip is nearly impossible to unclip, and if you do it's likely going to be damaged and need replaced. in any case don't overtighten the nuts or you'll likely dimple the sheet metal and may affect the function of the weatherstripping around the holes.

As far as I understand it…
  • Open trunk
  • Removed carpet from trunk panel
  • remove screws/clips from spoiler from this area
  • take some fishing line and use it to cut through adhesive that joins spoiler to trunk
  • clean residual adhesive
  • add adhesive to trunk (I understand its important to create a seal as it keeps water out of the trunk)
  • screw bolts and/or attach clips to spoiler
  • install carpet
  • close trunk
This is pretty much what i'll be doing when I've

How did you get the trunk liner off? Did you need to use a pry tool to get the clips off? And what about getting around the handle and emergency trunk opener cable/latch on the inside of the trunk?...
