and couldn't find one with the Reverse upwards... Shh, don't tell anyone!
I may be one of the filthy unwashed with an automatic, but I still have to concentrate with reverse. Even on the auto it's a forward motion unlike about every other auto since black and white TV days. It's probably for safety reasons but it kind of backfires when the expectations of 99.9% of your customers creates a larger, more common safety issue.

I've always found the "hurr durr millenials can't drive stick" thing silly, which generation is it that failed to pass along the skill AND drove the US auto market to it's current state of terrible slushboxes over the last few decades? Ah, right.

With alll this talk about millennials and their lack of desire to drive vehicles with manual transmissions I would be remiss if I didn't bring up the fact that Corvettes are no longer available with a manual. I know they've used the excuse that there isn't room for a third pedal in the C8 but it doesn't seem to bother most. Fact is that Corvettes are purchased primarily by old guys. They have apparently gotten lazy. Take a look at C4 and newer Corvettes for sale. The majority are automatic transmission. Don't blame the millennials!

Even BMW, Volkswagen and Audi is going away/has gone away from manuals. It's what the buyers want, sadly. I understand it on the C8 since they spent all the money on developing a new DCT transaxle. It's a good unit as well.

It's one of the reasons I got my 1LE when I did, because it was on the way out, my last chance to get a V8+manual. It's also why I snagged the CT4 V BW, get something great with a manual while it's available.

Wish I could get a truck with a manual transmission.

Look at all the other automation people demand in their cars: auto high beams, auto rear view, auto climate control to include defogging, auto heated wheel, auto heated & cooled seats, a nav that tells you exactly where to go, mostly autonomous driving and the list goes on. People are looking for a couch on wheels that feels more like riding down the lazy river even on bumpy interstates at 80+ mph.

They want to have what seems like the most minimal involvement in the driving experience as possible. They are the polar opposite of pretty much everyone on this forum, but they are the overwhelming majority of car buyers and manufacturers are catering to them.
