Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

Doing my part! 😂

Hey whoa...easy there my guy. It's definitely the Boomers. I have a 1971 Coupe de Ville and it has a three speed automatic (literal slush-box). The Boomers got lazy and taught us Gen Xers. The only thing I think you can blame on my generation is that we made the mistake of making automatics more efficient than the manuals. Full disclosure, I have the manual option in my Blackwing.
I'm a Boomer and I totally agree with you!!!

The old Turbo Hydramatic 400's were not slushy in any late 60s early 70s car I had. :) 2nd gear rubber was always "on demand".

I'm just saying that a three speed automatic, on a car that weighs 5000 lbs, ain't gonna win any prizes for for transmission refinement in 2025. And since the Turco Hydromatic 400s used a torque converter, they are the very definition of a slush box.
