2023 Ct5-v blackwing 6mt
Sup guys, ok so I'm hoping that someone on here has installed a Gen 6 Whipple Charger on there Ct5-v blackwing.
Me and my friends plan to tackle it tonight in my garage. Both GM guys with 25 yrs of experience. OK so my question is when I asked the texh at Whipple what I needed prior to installalation he told me just an oil change and new coolant. But he didn't specify anything regarding the tune from HP Tuners. When you by the Whipple charger it comes with the HP Tuner OBD and the credits. But it doesn't specify if i need to do anything else other just slap the tune on or is there more involved? Because from what i was told they send you a tune based on an OEM application. Also if any has ever installed the HP Tuner that was pre-programmed for there blackwing please share your experience. What was confusing on the tuning paperwork that they provided was an area that said for calibration request email and give them 24to 48hrs but I think this is for if you are trying to add or update a tune. I kind of don't want to start the installation until I get feedback.
Appreciate any feedback thanks Guys.

When the whipple kit was installed on my f150, it required downloading the current oem tune off the veh, sending it to whipple then they send you a new tune. I don’t see it being any different a process. It takes them that long to get back to you with your tune. Get the tune sent off and back before you start if you want to reduce downtime.

I don't know if it any different than before because they asked me over the phone if I had done any mods. I told them no, and he basically said when I called him that all I needed was coolant and oil he never said anything relatively from what you described.

There is always that one guy that has nothing better to do but to chime in and make stupid comment Guess you'll find out 😅😅😅 clown! For the record we decided not to touch it until we had all the full details.

I gave my personal experiences. You didn’t like that potential outcome. Nothing I’m going to say or do to sway you to make a phone call and ask them. So yeah, guess you’ll find out.

Hey Green02crew, I'm sorry bud I didn't realize it was you that commented 🤦 my apologies. I've always had bad experiences on these forums. I saw this early morning and my eyes were half open.

Someone who has experience installing these kits took time out of their day to give you their experience, tried to answer your questions, and you (for some reason that eludes me) got upset. I think the reason you keep having a bad experience on forums is closer to home than you might think.

Sometimes the answer is so clear, it's invisible. :D
