Ordered the AC Delco A3247C filter on Amazon and they sent me an STP-branded filter (that appears to be lightly used) in an AC Delco box. A few minutes of googling and none of the normal parts places seems to have the correct AC Delco.

Is the dealership my only choice? And no, I am not interested in K&N or Green. I wish AEM had one of their dry washable filters but they don't seem to offer one.

Would be nice to have another filter choice that does not require oiling.

I ordered the OEM filter from Amazon in March. I just now looked at my order history and it shows 6 left in stock and if I order within the next 14 hrs and 56 min I can have it delivered Saturday, Jan 3.

Amazon can be a little spotty with counterfeit OEM parts, so I avoid ordering critical engine parts from that site.

I usually order from Summit Racing b/c they are legit. They have coupons and I order all my stuff at once for my vehicles and get free shipping. They have a warehouse in Nevada and it gets to Arizona very fast.

This is what I received from Amazon in an ACDelco box. It's marked STP and seems to be used.

Haha, somebody returned the filter with their old one.

The edge was crimped on the first one I got and they sent me a new one and they told me to keep the bad one.

Rock Auto had them at one time, not now though just looking. They had them listed ACDelco.
I also bought from Amazon $50.08, legit as pictured. The box came in all bent up and over-taped but the filter is perfect. I just ordered another one.

I went ahead and ordered 2 from Summit. That's my way of telling the car that she's staying around for a while.

You received someone’s old filter. They bought the acdelco, swapped another filter into the box and returned it to Amazon to get a free filter. If you look at engine oil on Amazon or other consumables, you will find that they flag them as “highly returned items” - they are not returned because they are defective but rather so people can get free stuff from Amazon.

Nothing like paying for other people’s fraud.

It’s always the few that ruin it for the many.

I was talking to an employee at Walgreens and she told me she was so happy she moved from one store to another. At the old store, people would push her out of the way and go behind the counter and take cigarettes. For something like that they don’t call the Police because they won’t come out. She is instructed to just move out of the way. If it happens enough they just close the store, like in SF. That was not the way it was when I was growing up. - Letting the fraudsters and criminals dictate the lives of the law abiding. We’ve lost our bearings.

I replaced mine earlier last month after 4+ years and 24k+ miles. Just a couple of weeks ago, I started to get "Replace engine air filter soon" message on every start up. Assume this is a standard service message and likely triggered when the odo rolled past 25k. Anyone know if this just requires a reset using a scan tool? ....which coincidentally, I got this one (my choice) as a Christmas present but have yet to play around it with it.

Just press on the thumbwheel when viewing the air filter life in the maintenance menu. You will get an option for reset.

Interestingly, air filters get BETTER as they get dirtier (to a point of course). This is because dust attracts dust. So if you think aggressively changing your air filter early is helping like with your oil change intervals, you're actually wrong.
