WHAT to do!? Need a few opinions....

In his favor how? These cars are bringing 15-20k over sticker, if I was his dealer I'd tell him to bring the car back and I'd refund the money(minus mileage) and sell it to someone else for 15k over instead of 4k......
Not that it has anything to do with the price of tea in china but do you own a Blackwing?

Technically not yet, I placed a order through my local dealership in August of last year for the agreed upon price of MSRP. Car was built 1/24, still sitting in Lansing. This guys car was either retail stock or a sold order that fell through, thats fair game in my book for market adjustment, but then again I work at a dealership.....

4BWs are not selling for $15-20k over sticker.

BOOM, and now it makes sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With the EXCEPTION of the Sewell dealerships 95% of all car dealers are slim or something you would scrape off your shoe after leaving a porn theater! How come you have not gone down to Carmax and picked up a Blackwing yet? You know you can get them for the same price as a fluff BW......

Because I don't mind waiting for MSRP, its called supply and demand man....

Placing a order and paying MSRP is one thing, retail stock and market pricing is another.

Thank you all for your thoughts, I really do appreciate them. I agree with the vast majority of your comments. I absolutely love the car and have zero desire to blow up the deal. I bought this car to drive the shit out of and when my kids get in and say "I love this car Daddy" the lack of the sill plates and plaque matter not. In the end, I HAVE the car, its mine and I drove it today :) However, I'm with Tall Steve in that something about this just really chaps my ass!

I'm happy to put the selling price out there so you guys know where the market is....They were asking $20K over and that is likely why they still had it sitting there for 3 months. I paid a $4K over and it has Carbon1, so there's that. The dealer has not followed up with any news from their Rep, i'll update the post when I hear back.
4k over is pretty common in general for these cars and isn’t all that bad but I see your point. But I don’t think you will get it back.

This is a 4 that they were sitting on for 3 months at $20k over. 🤷‍♂️

The reality is you don't have much recourse. A letter from an attorney will get their attention and is the best course of action if you're serious about getting all of the money back. Any other course of action including talking to them or going to Corporate will be an exercise in frustration.

If you don't want to pursue legal action, try talking to the dealer principal in person. You will most likely get the runaround and you may only get the attention of the GSM. I'd position it back on to them. " You misrepresented the value of the car, what are you going to do to compensate me?".

If you make too much of a stink or insult their ego, they won't want to deal with you. You could ask for some of the money back, or perhaps an extended warranty, maintenance plan or something of the sorts. If you play hardball with them I would be prepared for them to say no. If you do that, they may very well say..."why don't we just by the car back from you and you can have some of your money back." They may not get $20k over MSRP, but eventually they can get double what they sold it to you for.

Good luck and keep us posted on how things go.

I'm with you on that. My 5 is my collector series and special to me, and my 4 is not and is my daily driver. Hell, I have an opportunity to get the BW5 120 anniversary Edition and I'm thinking about it. Problem is, where to put it and find time to drive it. LOL o_O
How do you have this opportunity when workbench hasn’t populated all the 2023 options??

I don’t know how but my dealer offered me their 120 but I declined. The options aren’t really changing much if at all to my knowledge. He just based it off of my ‘22 build and said that they could submit it for the ‘23.

how dare you give up the opportunity to own a rare 1: whatever car with a plaque, and a shifter medalion.

His origional reply was that my car is #46 of 222 because that is what his Caddilac rep told him. Sad but true. I have it in writing.

Yes, This sale was only two weeks ago and I have gone back and forth with him 3 times, all in writing. He has been kind but his last e-mail took a turn when he stated "I really don't have the time or patience to write lenghty e-mails' . He very clearly states in FULL CAPS and BOLD FONT that my car is 1/250...PERIOD.

I am not looking to shame him as I beleive his intentions were sincere, I just think that he was out over his skis and possibly had bad information from ....his Cadillac Rep, of all people. I feel like I am at a stalemate with him and am looking for a different course of action. I'd like to avoid legal action as i pride myself on NOT being litigious. Is anyone aware of a Cadillac contact that I could reach out to?
A different course of action? The only way you are ever going to get anywhere with this dealer is by having an attorney send a certified letter to them. It's obvious, they are not going to do anything for you. Contacting Cadillac is an exercise in frustration and will drain time and energy from you and result in nothing. Trust me, I have experienced it. There is no reason to pride yourself in not being litigious. The dealer lied to you. You're right...their intention was "sincere".....to deceive you every step of the way. The fact that the salesman/GM would say he "does not have the time or patience" to compose emails is telling and unprofessional. Consult with an attorney. You have in writing that this dealership claims the car is one of the first 250 cars...when it clearly is not. Most legitimate attorneys will offer a free consultation. Time is money. If they don't think you have a case, they'll tell you.

We recently had a problem with the GM vehicle dealer was more than helpful trying to get the problem resolved but GM refused, got attorney in no time problem resolved. Don’t waste your time you need for the throat!
Little different scenario but same principal nothing seems to get done unless you hire professional.

This is not correct and the reason for confusion for people not in the know...... There were only 250 5's and 250 4's in the "Collector Series"..... Google is your friend.
My apologies, I mixed up the counts thinking about the VIN numbering weirdness. You are correct.

There is some oddness with the sequence though, the "first" 250 were not the actual first 250 if you were unfortunate enough to have a constraint item in your build, so some non-collectors cars are sprinkled in the tail end of the early production, making VINs unhelpful in determining anything.

The "first 250" hype was for people that were in the first 250 reservations and those cars got the collector series plates. They may or may not have been built in the first 250 sequential VINs off the line, due to constraints or other stock orders processed.

Dealer called and they have an allocation if I wanted one of the anniversary editions. I'm going over today and talk to him about it.
