Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

What did you all drive back in the day?

Due to my vestibular issues, I don't switch cars often as it takes me a long time to adjust. My first car purchase was a used '92 Mercury Topaz. I drove it for four years but have no pictures of it.

Second purchase was trading in the Topaz for a new '00 Nissan Sentra SE, added Nismo suspension and wheels.

Then I traded the Sentra for a new '11 Altima 3.5SR.

I sold the Altima when I bought my 4BW.

I got the Z06 between the Altima and 4BW.

If you've kept count, that's five cars, four of them with some really good engines (SR20DE, VQ35DE, LT4, LF4).

Maybe the winner for the worst car back in the day: 1989 Geo Metro (3 cylinder, 3 speed auto, 52 hp)

Then I had a 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT SL (I think the SL stood for SLow)

2001 Honda Civic (cheapest cost of ownership to this day)

2008 Acura MDX (actually just got rid of this one)

2003 Honda S2000 (still one of my favorite cars of all time)

2015 Lexus GS350 (not a bad car, but a little boring)

2023 4BW - love this one. It’s a thrill every day.

What did I drive back in the day? My first car was a 1971 green on green Pontiac four door, the business man's special. Lee Ritenour did a song about it, IIRC. It was horrible, but for $650 it got me to school and work for a while. Then I bought a orange 1973 Cutlass Supreme, which I suppose was pretty cool for the 70s, although even with a 350 V8 it was not what you would call fast. My H.S. buddy called it "The Tangerine". And not as a compliment.

The first truly cool and fast car I bought was the 1987 Buick Regal Type-T. AKA, Grand National, although the T was not painted black and didn't have the cool seats, it was theoretically faster, as it was lighter. I bought it very slightly used (2K miles) in 1988 and for something like $15K and then dumped another $4K into it with a killer stereo... LOL. It was my company car (I owned the company) so it was all a write-off.

I have no digitized pictures of any of these earlier cars, but I do have my "wall of shame" in the garage.

My first car is the green Camaro on the left. 1995 Camaro V6, 5-spd manual. Insurance is rough on 16yos... The red 1998 Camaro SS was my fathers, which I now own and still drive around.

Much like my situation a while ago. My son's 96 V-6 on the right and my de-badged 95 Z28 on the left.

First car was an 1991 Eagle talon tsi awd making around 500whp
Two Mkiv supra's
E36 m3
S2000
Civic SI
C6 corvette
CT4VBW

All manuals of course.
And a whole bunch of liter bikes mixed in.
I like how you roll. That Eagle Talon would have been and still would be quite a hoot with that kind of power. MK IV Supra - legendary (a friends 700-800 hp single turbo version fastest car I've ever driven)....E36 M3 - old school pure fun....S 2000 - even better (one of my favorite all time cars)...etc

I once had an opportunity to do a direct swap of my Audi S4 (st 3) with a 500 hp S2000 (young guy with a new family said my S4 wagon would be perfect for them). I though about it (what a car his was...and I want)....but I loved my all season, great utility, fast as F S4 so much I couldn't do it. I regret that I didn't make the trade to this day. Shortly after began having more engine/turbo issues with the S4 and ended up selling it for a song. I would probably still be driving and enjoying that S2000 now and not lusting after another 2 seater like a Caymen or such.

Awesome wall....lots of great cars there...

First car: 1969 Mustang Fastback, 302 3 speed. Heavily modified in high school and changed everything in the engine/drivetrain, wish I had kept it.
Later years:
76 SE Trans Am (without the chicken decal) 455 4 speed. (Wish I kept this one too)
79 L82 corvette 4 speed
84 Z28
85 IROC Z
01 Corvette
06 ZO6
11 Carbon Edition vette
All of them were manual trans, the main reason for getting the BW now.

My first car is my 1967 Cadillac deVille convertible. (Still have it !) 202,000 miles on it. Just picked it up yesterday after a 2 month going over and painted both rear quarters and doors. My Dad gave me his 1972 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham as my very first car to drive in HS. The 67' was in the family auto body shop parked in the back corner as a "Hangar Queen". My first brand new car was a 1987 Olds Cutlass Supreme witha 307 v8. Very nice car I cloned to look like the more expensive 442 model.
1996 Chev Impala SS ( w/rarer Blue/Green paint)(4dr hotrod with a baby seat in back.)
1999 Chev Suburban Z71 ( kids started arriving)
2000 Saturn SL2 (my ghetto cruiser to work NYPD in Brooklyn. If it got damaged or stolen, no big deal.)
2002 Saturn L200 (actually another nice car by Saturn)
2012 Chev Suburban Z71
2014 Dodge Challenger RT/Plus (50th bday gift to me.) Still have it.
2016 Chev Suburban Z71
2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Still have it.
2018 Chev Colorado ZR2 (sold it to pay off half of my 5BW) (Might buy the 2024 ZR2.)
2022 CT5-V Blackwing (auto) Retirement gift to me.
2022 Kia Telluride EX (Already drove it from NY to Calif and back. )

My Caddy today needing some new pinstripes. (coming soon.) NY is expecting some snow tonight into tomorrow and I will need to cover her up before the weather arrives.

Centerline Auto/Drags? Those sure date the car and me😳 loved those, had them on my Chevelle with spinner caps too😂
They were Cheviot wheels, Centerline knockoffs (no pun intended). I bought them used from a friend after he sold his Mustang. With my $300 car payment and $400 insurance payment I couldn't afford Centerlines!

I know a mechanic who just bought a Typhoon from an old lady. Truck has been parked for 20 years and is in need of some TLC. The cool thing is that the lady gave him a complete set of NOS decals for the truck to put on when its done. He gave her $2500 for the truck with 60k miles on it. It will be worth much more once its restored.

My first car was a 1969 SS396 Chevelle L78 4 speed bought in 1989.Car got totaled in 1994
In 1994 I bought a 1970 LS6 Chevelle which I still own.
In 1996 I ordered a rare WS6 1LE Formula Firebird. That car I wish I still owned! Super Rare 1 of 20 made sold in 1999
In 2000 I bought a Z28 Camaro 6 speed. sold in 2010
In 2010 I bought a left over 2009 Z06 Vette (almost forgot that one) sold it a year later
In 2015 I ordered a new SS Sedan and Holdenized it. In 2018 I sold it to my best friend who still owns it
In 2017 I ordered a 1LE Camaro SS. Sold it last year.
In 2018 I bought a lightly used 2014 Caprice PPV which I Holdenized and still own it
In 2023 I ordered my CT5 Blackwing and here I am

I started out with a '73 MGB, then a '93 Honda Del Sol, '97 Prelude, then out of college got a new '01 C5 Z51 and I have since vacillated between horsepower V8 cars, some flat six P-cars, trucks, and lower horsepower, but light and fun sports cars like my old '05 S2000 and my current '22 BRZ.

My last two purchases have been a '24 Corolla GR and my now current '24 Integra Type S. There is just something about relatively lightweight, fun to fling around town, sports cars/sedans. That said, never getting rid of my C6 ZR1 or 5BW if at all possible. Always fun to have rocketships where rear-wheel traction is a significant issue. :D
