Welcome to the Cadillac V-Series Forums!

What did you all drive back in the day?

66 Mustang coupe with 4 speed and a bastard 289/302 engine with all drum brakes and manual steering too. Had a great time going to junkyards, that’s what we called them, finding parts for it like the steering arm and the steering gear box. After a while some of the owners after they trusted me…would let me see some of the really rare muscle car stuff they had. This is WV, with snakes, yellow jackets, hornets, possums and all kinds of things making homes in the junked cars…so once you saw a part you wanted….you had to take it off. Had to check for the critters first.

All the vehicles I've ever owned:

1980: 1981 Toyota Starlet - MT
1984 - 64 1/2 Mustang Convertible w/289 4 barrel V8 (given to me by my Godparents) - still own
1986 - 1987 Acura Integra - MT (bought by my wife while we were dating on my rec...we had it for years)
1988 - 1989 Toyota MR2 Supercharge MT
1995? - Don't remember the year - Mazda Millenia Supercharged - auto (3 time race winner!)
2002 - 2001 Audi S4 Avant - MT
2003 - 2004 BMW 330i ZHP - MT - still own
2009 - 2010 VW GTI 2 door MT (totaled by son)
2013 - 2012 VW GTI - 4 door MT - still own
2023 - 2024 Caddy CT4 V BW - MT - still own...lol

Not really what I intended but since others are doing it 😂

Love the ‘68 Roadrunner. My first car was a white ‘68 Belvedere. Slant 6/auto. My dad took it in as a trade at the C-P dealership where he worked. He intercepted it for me for less than $500. It was clean too.

This is my first new car, 5-speed 5.0. 0-60 in 6 seconds never felt so fast lol. This is the only pic I have of it, taken on the Great South Bay.

Man wish I had pics of all the cars I've owned.
1st was Honda XL100, cost me $600 brand new in '76. Had my license at 15 in Fla, worked at a gas station after school and found so many muscle cars for buddies, my brother and myself. Over the years I've owned
71 SS 454 Monte Carlo, 70 SS 396 Chevelle, '65 GTO w/ Tripowered 421, 64 Plymouth Valiant w/3 on the tree, 72 Buick GS, 66 GTO convertible, 70 Tempest 15,000 miles, 67 LeMans w/4spd, 66 Grand Prix, 77 Bandit T/A, 96 Impala SS, all gone. Still have 64 GTO convertible restomod (on rotisserie)and 71 BB Stingray, of course a 5BW, all manuals and Denali Ultimate 3500

I'm beginning to see a pattern with many of you here...no wonder you're in 5 BWs now....lol

Really though very impressed with most all these cars you guys have had...and still have (good calls Old Goat)...

I'm only 33 but here's my list

2006-2007: 1966 Ford Mustang. It was slow, and the only auto transmission vehicle I've ever owned. I just thought it looked cool.

2007-2014: 2000 Honda Civic EX. Great car.

2014-2016: 2005 Mazda3 Hatch. It was ok.

2016-2019: 2016 Mazda3 Hatch. Pretty good! Hated that it was gray though. Lol.

2019-2022: 2017 Mazda Miata RF. Amazing!

2022-Present: 2022 CT4 V Blackwing. Kinda mad at my car right now for always having issues and depreciating so much, but I'm not gonna talk shit about it :ROFLMAO:

Jeez my first import was a 2009 Civic Si coupe, I was 47. Needed a commuter car and it had to have a little spirit😂

Centerline Auto/Drags? Those sure date the car and me😳 loved those, had them on my Chevelle with spinner caps too😂

Side note hunting for my first car I looked at a Superbird, orange, blk vinyl top, black gut bench seat column shift 440. It was a reasonably clean DD. Guy was asking $1200. I thought it was the ugliest thing that I'd ever seen🤣🤣🤣 Just realize that this was in 1977 and I was 16

That's very cool! I was only 14 in 1977 so I know it wasn't in my budget then. I actually liked the Superbird though it wouldn't have been my first choice. Those are worth crazy money these days. Even with column shift 4bbl 440! 😂

First car was a 1973 dodge coronet(318 auto) 4dr w/56k miles. That was in 1996. Second car was a 1988 trans am gta in '97.
My 5bw is now around car number 105.
Cheers to that. My first was a 1972 Coronet sedan with a 318. Shit brown exterior but that thing could pull stumps out with the best of them.

My ride all through High School was a 1954 Ford F100. Loved that truck. Straight pipes...starter on the floor. Took all of my burgeoning automotive skills to keep it running. Awesome experience...rebuilt the carb, learned about distributors and drum brakes.

This isn't my truck but a pic similar to mine.

Flathead?

My first car is the green Camaro on the left. 1995 Camaro V6, 5-spd manual. Insurance is rough on 16yos... The red 1998 Camaro SS was my fathers, which I now own and still drive around.

@ArgentWing  what an awesome thread! I'm enjoying reading everyone's stories about the cars they've owned over the years!

Growing up in Greece, I had to wait until I turned 18 to get my driver's license and ask my dad to borrow his car. He owned some cool cars over the years, which I loved to put through their paces.

The first car I learned how to shift gears in was a 1980 VW Scirocco. By third grade, I was able to shift up to second gear and navigate around the parking lot across from our family home.

Later, my dad owned a red Mazda MX3 V6 MT, slightly modified with an air intake, cat-back exhaust, and lowered suspension. It was a blast to drive, especially on the winding mountain roads of Greece. I spent a lot of time pushing it to its limits during time attacks up in the mountains.

My first car in my name was a 1992 Buick Le Sabre with a blue velvet interior. I bought it for a couple of grand when I moved to the US for grad school in 2004. While it got me from point A to point B, I couldn't help feeling a bit embarrassed driving it. Never took a picture of this car, but looking back i should as it is part of my American dream story 🤣

After four years, I upgraded to my dream car at the time in 2008, a 2004 Mazda RX-8 MT with 30k miles. This car was an absolute blast to drive, with its rotary engine and ability to rev up to 9k rpms. I couldn't resist modding it with lowering springs, an air intake, full exhaust (throwing flames), and a short shifter. However, it also got me into a fair bit of trouble... I managed to put 100k miles on the motor before trading it in after six years of ownership for a 2014 Mustang GT Track Pack.

I kept the Mustang for ten years, making a few modifications like an intake and cat-back exhaust. It only had 37k miles on it when I traded it in for the 24 4BW.

While the 4BW is the best car I've ever owned, I sometimes wish I still had the RX-8 parked next to the Caddy.

After loading all the photos, I blame my dad's Sciroco for liking red colored cars 🤣
