A thread for what seems to be the most underrated color

I originally tried to order my CT4 BW in Midnight Steele (August 2022) came back immediately when dealer put the code in that it was unavailable, switched it to Argent Silver... like my Argent Silver but think Midnight Steele is a better color.

Seems to be a less common color option. Saw one at a dealership when it was overcast and had a greenish tint to it.

I like the Infrared, or is it Radiant Red, in the background.

Midnight is another interesting color the way it changes and shows the lines.

This one is at my dealership! I love this color. I bought Wave Metallic, but I want Midnight Steel. Wave is growing on me though.
How hard is the waive to keep clean? Dirt and swirl marks etc…

I think that Midnight Steel hides imperfections and swirls much easier than Wave based on my experience.

I don't know if the GM clearcoat is considered soft or not, but my Wave CT5 BW was ran through the wash (after I said not to) and I could really see the swirls and marks. I clayed and polished the paint and I would say that it is now a good 80% better with less visible swirling/scratches. Its easy for me to keep it clean, but time will tell regarding any new swirls. I use the two bucket (3 buckets actually) method for washing, ceramic or wax products, an blow dryer, and soft microfiber drying cloths so I'm pretty OCD and cautious.

Since I get to see all the colors in person everyday, I can confidently say that the metallic and shade of Midnight Steel is fantastic at looking 100% when really only at 80%.

I do. I'm not in sales however. I am the Product Specialist and teach Sales Associates about the vehicles and the competition. I also troubleshoot and teach technology to our customers so they can use their vehicle to the fullest.

Nice. So I’m guessing you would recommend the CT4BW. I’m trying to get manual but don’t want another black car which is the only on hand. Don’t think they will build any more 23s so can’t order either. Do you think if there will be a 2024 model year for the CT4BW?

Picked mine up today. This is not a color I was anticipating ending up with. When I initially started looking I think I told the dealer that this was a color I did not want. This was based on the configurator photos which I think make it look like a grandpa color. I actually placed an order for Black Raven but after seeing both in person I prefer MSM. It looks very good with an overcast, have not seen it in the sun yet.

Looks tough with black wheels. The bronze wheels on mine seem to soften the look of the car.

Congrats - looks great! Of course it does...its exactly my car...lol. Can't tell if you have a sunroof (I do) or what interior (I have the tan leather).

The electric red is my favorite color (I also really like the yellow and last years burnt orange)...but I am an old man so this color is perhaps best...it does look pretty sharp though. I have bronze Apex wheels on order and will put snows on my factory blacks.

The sun really brings out the blue in it.

I have had my 2023 ct4v for 6 months. I had a black VW Jetta for 9 years, loved the manual shift, but was tired of the black color. The Cadillac dealer only had one blackwing on lot and was pushing it with the line " a Cadillac has to be black"

. I was torn between the red tint coat and the midnight Steel Metallic and was told ordering these colors would take 2 years to deliver. My Jetta was still running well, so I said I could wait. The next day, the dealer called to say a Midnight Steel metallic CT4V BW was coming in in 2 months, and arrived in May, 2023. I am very happy with the color, which does seem to change tone with the lighting, this is a picture at the train station parking lot in early morning, late summer. It washes up nicely, and, to my eyes, especially looks good when the stock polished/dark android wheels are shining and fresh tire black is applied.
