What takes 15 months, 11,000 street miles, 228 dyno pulls and eight track days spread over Florida, Texas and Ohio? Crushing the 700 whp barrier for the first time ever with a CT4-V Blackwing. Today we reached a new milestone with the Brown Belt Performance Package on our flagship car when it achieved peak power of 710 whp, which is 300 whp higher than stock!

Awesome! What's the rundown of parts? Still using the piggyback computer?

Looks like you just need to go through all the packages as they build upon each other.
But, generally looks like you'll need upgraded turbos to do 700whp. Plus, Head studs, fueling, downpipes, more fueling, throttle body, etc. Pretty impressed.

way to go Scott = what's the cost to get a 4v-bw to hit that mark??
Still finalizing a few details, but probably in the $23,000 to $25,000 range for parts, installation, tuning, sales tax, etc.

That is some serious power from this LF4. Are you beefing up the motor to handle this kind of power or do our stock LF4s have the required forged internals to handle it?

Over the last two years, Tapout has built and/or tuned 14 LF4 powered cars with genuine Caddy Issues turbos, producing 700 or higher legitimate, dyno proven whp, plus dozens more that haven't been on the dyno. All of them are still running very well today.

Today we reached a high mark running the Brown Belt Performance Package on our flagship car. This time we tuned the car using the soon to be released Tapout Tuning Module (TTM). These modules are more sophisticated than any other devices on the market, giving us the ability for much more precise tuning. You may notice that the new dyno chart looks similar to the 710 whp dyno chart we posted two months ago. However, we now have 85 foot-pounds more torque at 4,000 rpm, and much smoother boost and power curves.

Pump gas? E85? Great work guys!
500 to 530 whp is the upper limit for safe power on pump gas with these engines.

In order to go higher, you'll need race fuel, ethanol fuel blends and/or methanol injection.

Our soon to be released CT4-V Blackwing Purple Belt Performance Package will be set up for either pump gas with methanol injection, ethanol fuel blend or a combination of ethanol and methanol.

This car is full Brown Belt, which requires both ethanol and methanol.

Can't wait to post up the results next month!

@WONT TAP
Apologies if this has been posted already, but I don't recall seeing it. YouTube served it up as a recommended video today.

Not sure where to post this, lots of possible threads. I'll cross post here and one other thread:
New ECUs finally unlocked??

Hard to do. Great job. What about clutch, trans, drive shaft, diff & axles. Can they handle the added power and torque? Extra power will always find the weakest link. I know there is some robust drivetrain components on these cars but this a lot of additional power.

We are fortunate enough to have CT5-V Blackwing drivelines in our CT4-V Blackwings. Those cars come from the factory with 200 more horsepower, and our OEM parts are holding up without issue.
