I doubt that 3K miles would make that much difference, and they didn't ask about options and such. Maybe I should talk to your guy?
Don't have a guy..... This is the email I received after submitting:

All listings on BaT are exclusive and transparent to ensure fairness for everyone. There are a few things we require of every seller to protect the integrity of our process:
  • Please take down any existing online ads (including those on Craigslist, eBay, forums, social media, etc.), as listing the car elsewhere will negatively affect bidding.
  • See the auction through to the end. We do not pull auctions once they are live on the website.
  • Please do not bid on your own listing or allow any friends, family, or associates to bid on your listing. This behavior undermines your transparency and credibility as a seller, and it is strictly prohibited on BaT.
  • Sell the vehicle to the high bidder if it meets reserve. We accepted your 2023 Cadillac CT5 V BW manual 6 speed at a USD $90,000.00 reserve. If the bidding reaches that amount, we expect you will follow through and complete the transaction.
  • Complete the transaction based on the buyer’s preference for payment. We offer buyers the option to either pay online via our Bring a Trailer Verified Checkout process or to arrange the payment details with you on their own.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by emailing auctionmanager+94045209@bringatrailer.com.

We're looking forward to working with you. When we receive the listing fee, we'll reach out to let you know we've begun putting your listing together!

I've been actively shopping for a 5BW and have built a file on my research. I think BaT is likely right on the money at low $80 for their marketplace with no options. However, I think $85 is possible with the local buyer that's hungry for a quick 5BW. But right now, I have an $85k similar car to yours on my list with $7500 in options that's been sitting at a dealer for quite sometime that I imagine would be reachable at closer to that $80 number.

I compare all of these cars on my list, and I can jump to $90 and it opens up to $25k-$33k optioned cars with sub 10k miles, so I believe that's the route I go, but on your car, I don't think it's unreasonable to find a $85k buyer.

Buyer pays a 5% fee on BAT

Looking for a 4BW if you guys know of any leads, would love a 5BW but it's a bit out of my budget.
New 4BW is about $65K.
Thanks,

If you're looking for new there seem to be several out there. I ran a quick inventory search on cadillac.com and it came back with 82 within 500 miles of Ohio, including 11 2024s. A lot of those may be customer orders in transit, but I doubt the 2024s are. Here's a snapshot sorted price low to high

By the way, there are at least two special editions (Impact and Elevation) marked down by $20k:

Thanks for your hard work! Forgot to mention that I'm only looking for stick shift.
I'm very open to getting a used car, so new is not a must.

That red one is 6-sp, but on the other coast. The only option is the paint color. I was just checking to see how much inventory there was.

Too bad the 24 5's have all been taken. I did some searching and no manuals left around.

I watched that auction. Two guys really battled that out. My personal opinion, he overpaid for a 23K mile 2022 that's a base car. Only option IIRC was the PDR. Makes feel good for the value of my nicely optioned, 8500 mile 2022.

I hear you. I think one was a dealer as well. But the market spoke and yesterday, 80k plus fees was the price. Any BW bidder knows what they are buying its not a random car. But I would not pay 84k for it especially when bc i have a 23 with 7k miles that cost me a few k more.

100% agree that someone overpaid for a $88k msrp fairly basic car with 23k miles.
Still nice to know they are holding good resale value when you find the right buyer.

@Finally-a-V, I feel the same way about my nicely option 22.

Thanks all for your input. My car is a base model, the only option was the security lug nuts, which I took off and sold (I hate those things). I listed the car for sale, and the only queries I got on it were from scammers and dealers.

Of the last few cars that I've sold, I've found that it's much more likely these days that individual buyers want you to bend over backwards and then forwards. Everyone wants to buy at wholesale pricing, and everyone wants to sell at retail.

The really tough part is that selling a fairly new expensive car often requires financing. And dealers are much better positioned to provide that, plus they make money on it, plus you usually get a tax break when trading (and most of us individual sellers don't want a trade). It's playing against a stacked deck, and instead of the Internet making it easier for us, I think it's making it more difficult.

Add to that web sites such as Cargurus no longer accept ads from individuals, it's a dealer-only marketing tool now. Cars.com is free to list, but no one seems to use that anymore. Autotrader will let you list a car for $79, for a couple of months, but then if the buyer chooses to buy it through the website, the seller pays another 1% fee. On a $80K car, that's another $800 you just lost.

And then of course, selling a car like the BW exposes you to people who just want a free test drive to test the power and traction. And the risks - just in general - of meeting strangers to look at and drive your car. It can be stressful.

The advantage to selling to a reputable dealer is that there are no games with financing, no ridiculous (in my limited experience) requests to fix everything - or anything - and a reasonable expectation of how it will go. For example, when I sold my Zupra, the only serious inquiry I got was from a dealer/broker, and we chatted for a bit and spent probably a whole minute negotating, and because he works with other dealers in stronger markets than what I have here in NC, he paid me a fair wholesale price in his area for what was $2K more than what I could have gotten from any dealer around here (yes, I got quotes). Plus he had to ship it. And in this case, I believe we spoke around 9 AM and by 11 AM the wired funds were in my bank account.

So, probably, if I had stuck it out for a few months and found a local retail buyer, I could have sold it for more. Maybe. During that time I'm paying taxes and insurance, dealing with the morons, and the car continues to depreciate.

If you made it this far, thank you. LOL

So, yes, I sold the BW to a dealer in Missouri yesterday. Funds should arrive Monday, and then I'll fill in the details if anyone cares. I'm a bit sad, OK, a lot sad, but I've enjoyed it for two years, and now it's time for someone else to enjoy it.

For how much?
