Precision Package Owners - How is it?

My 2022 5BW was my retirement gift to myself. Age 57. I only kinda regret not getting a pension from my military years. I left at 17 years of service. BUT.....if i had stayed, I would not have gotten my law enforcement career and the much. much better pension and benefits. I was asked to rejoin the military and they would have given me a 40k signing bonus and a bump in grade from 0-3E to 0-4. (I was formerly enlisted before become an Officer) I declined. I was in my late 40's and did not want to take anymore PT tests....LOL !

Can anyone who took delivery of a Precision Package car confirm the following from the original press release?
“a second set of rear toe-control links are provided—they come in the trunk, and are about 0.1 inch longer“

Are you wanting to know if the press release has that in it, or if the parts are in the trunk? The answer to both is yes.

Thanks for confirm that the parts are in the trunk. I will have the dealership install and do a track alignment before I pick up the car.

You car is one away from mine, 86-0382.

The additional links are provided but not installed, and not at PDI unless you asked them to do it. Mine are still in the boxes, and my car went through PDI. I'm not tracking the car so it would be pointless to have them on at this time.

here is another review of the precision pack. Everyone seems to focus on the track part but don't comment about where people drive it most, on the street. I get that its a precision pack, but they say it has few compromises. I Am trying to decide which one is right from me coming from a CFTP Shelby. The info out there hasnt fully helped me yet

I came to the 5BW community from a '22 Mach 1, so I can feel you a little on the CFTP, although way different, it's still the same chassis and bones, just like these with and without the V8V.

Remember, it's still a Cadillac. It's still a heavy 4 door car with a ton of power and mine, a Six-Speed.

That said, I'm 282 miles into the break in period. So far the two differences I can distinguish this far is there's no more rear end wobble on acceleration, it now tracks straight. Don't know about upper RPM range but my old car felt all over the road at low speed, low RPM, with near full throttle. It's planted.

The second difference is exiting my garage. It's an immediate 90-degree left turn, up a very decent incline. The rear tires lose traction and look for grip. My old '23 5BW did not do that, so I can tell that there's some extra rigidity, and this is without the included toe links that I don't have installed.

Tour and cruising down the highway is absolutely just as comfortable as my old car. Sport/Track/V-Mode feels the same. I normally run V-Mode anyway and it's not harsh at all.

Again, just under 300 miles in. My old car had 6000 when I bought it and I immediately went on a road trip with it.

ok great thank you for the insight. I would agree, and im sure the gt500 and mach1 feel similar that is for sure. Im not sure which package you had but im guessing the CFTP rides stiffer, but in my opinion it doesn't ride uncomfortably or like crap. Its firm and controlled. A lot of my issues are the car is not enjoyable unless I'm going all out. sitting and cruising is not comfortable likely due to the Recaro seats. I Have an athletic build and the bolsters are not comfortable on my outer legs, whilst also pinching my rear end after a little while. I appreciate your time and sharing your experience. Please let us know how it differs at WOT!

That being said if the Precision Pack gives me better driving experience and is not stiffer/more uncomfortable in its Suspension Setup than the CFTP, than i am pretty sure the Precision Pack is what I want. I would be going PS4S as well.

I think everyone has and there are a lot of old treads discussing it. But, while it is evident on the street, I have never noticed it on the track. So for me, it is no big deal as get my kicks on track days, not on the street anyway.

It would be nice to get rid of it but not $18k nice,

PP sounds cool but for the net diff of selling my 23 and buying a 25 with tax and registration, can buy another decent car for winter driving when BW is parked. Like a GR Corolla or 240ix slightly used.

Good question. I think the max rear camber goes from -1.6 to -2.0. I would think the min would be 0.4 diff as well.

I just got the track alignment on my PP car. -2.8 both sides on the front. On the rear with the aluminum toe links, max on one side was -1.9 and the other -2.1

How many miles now and would you option it again ?

I think I read that that the facelifted ct5's have the new magnaride.. I wonder if that would make any differences ?

Its still Magnetic Ride Control (MRC) 4.0, though over the years the software calibrations and integration has been updated. It's still largely the same.

Would I option it again? Probably not for me. This is a street car for me, and I'm not going to use anything that it offers. Even though my previous Blackwing had the carbon ceramic brakes, I liked that, but I could do without the additional $9,000 of stuff that I'm not going to use, in addition to the 9,000 for the ceramic brakes. I wouldn't even option CF1/2 if it was an ordered car, but I having to find this one on the lot at the right time.

I have 600 mi on the car, and I have zero complaints. And compliant when you intend it to be that way, or it can be damn amazingly nimble and well, very precise too.

I know all of the differences that it includes, however, my butt cannot tell a difference.

WoW you are throwing me off pretty hard here. I had a 24 5BW manual with the sofa seats, ceramics, no carbons and i loved it but I wanted to have the Buckets, carbons, and precision pack..So I sold it.

Do you feel like the Precision pack is somewhat stiffer and not meant for everyday driving? Or are you just saying this from a perspective that you just dont feel like you would use the limits of the precision pack and that it feels it is a waste to have it on your current vehicle ?

the big thing about Carbon pack 2 for me was when I went to spring mountain all their cars have CF2 pack and I was staring at a carbon diffuser and trunk spoiler for 2 days straight.. It made me really want it.
