Oil filter brand

Throw a piece of folded sandpaper in your band wrench to minimize slippage. I would bet the filters are put on by a machine or at least some mechanical assistance device. I've always noticed even the filters I put on seem to be tighter when removing than when installed.

Or try a wide rubber band or the opening of a latex glove. Something to give the metal band grip on the metal.

If the filter socket on the right doesn't get it done, the filter pliers on the left are undefeated in my shop.

The only car I had constant issues with an oil filter was my 2006 Corolla. IDK what happened, hand tight + 1/4 turn = RED LOCTITE.
The pliers are my go-to, don't be afraid to crush the filter a little, you're not going to reuse it.
