New guy- aiming for a 26 CT4-V BW

Caddy email silent, but dealership advised car was indeed built this week and VIN issued today (3800). Went and re-submitted to Caddy for email updates. Shame they can't make that work

I know you are looking for delivery updates and I don't know if this will still work, but use this link and enter your VIN (if they gave it to you) after the = up in the URL to look at your window sticker. Leave a space after the = .

Thanks. Pulls the window sticker. They did indeed build the car I wanted. You might laugh but at this point in my life, I take nothing for granted

Congrats! That's the exact spec I would have ordered as well :) Definitely send some pictures when you get the car. I can only imagine the anticipation.

So a week and half after built and waiting transit, Cadillac sends me an email "Congratulations, your car has been built". Better late than never;LOL Or maybe they are just erring on the side of under-promise to maximize chance of perceived over-deliver:unsure:

A customer of mine received an email saying their Blackwing would arrive March 31st and it came in March 5th...

Car arrived at dealership yesterday. Getting PPF installed on the front and hood and will pick it up on Saturday. Can’t wait!!!

Don't go and visit your dealer website or you might see your car for sale. My first BW5 was on their site before it was on site. Apparently it is normal for them to advertise it since technically the keys and title aren't in your hands yet. It's a bait and switch tactic IMO.

All vehicles are loaded on the dealership sites by Cadillac when the builds get to the invoice status. It is annoying. People call in on cars that are not available and there is nothing we can do but put them as a back-up in case the other person backs out. Those calls are not fun for the customer or the sales associate.

I understand what you mean though. Years ago (before covid), I worked at a dealership in north Dallas/Frisco where we were commonly told to say a car was available and make the appointment, even without checking. I do not know if they still do it with the Blackwings or Escalade V models. That is just one of the reasons I left that dealership and upgraded to Sewell in 2019.

So my understanding, but speedy probably knows waaay better, is that GM vehicles can be ordered "retail sold" and do not show in the public facing system as they are already considered sold.

That was the case for my 1LE at least... it never showed anywhere, even on the Chevy inventory search, after built and while in transit. Also even a google search of the VIN came up empty until it was in my possession.

Same with this one, it briefly popped on the Caddy Inventory Search for about 1 day and then disappeared. Enough time though that the web bots found the VIN.

But I know first hand there are a few dealers do exactly what y'all say... in the quest for both the 1LE and Blackwing, I called on dealers with close match cars showing in transit or in stock from the GM Inventory Search and often the salesperson would straight default to want me to come in to talk. I learned I needed to be very EXPLICIT that if the exact VIN I was interested in was NOT available to buy when I got there, I would be very pissed:ninja: Funny how the playing loosely salesmen would back off quickly to "well we have similar cars" or "we could possibly find you one at another dealership", etc.
