Media dumps

I once had the opportunity to follow a CIA big SUV from an airport to the US Embassy in a foreign city where the airport was on the opposite side of a city to the embassy. The lead agent tried to dissuade me from doing so and suggested I just meet them there as they practiced full evasion driving on the route. I told them not to worry I could handle it and managed to stick on their tail for the whole drive across town at very high speeds....cutting through traffic, and running through red lights etc....all in my crappy rented imitation Fiat. They did their best to lose me but couldn't and were mighty surprised and impressed I kept with them all the way. I gotta say it was great fun.

"Full evasive driving."

Good to know my usual driving style has a formal name. My wife just calls it asshole driving.

We've always called it proactive driving...

Mustangs are all good - for what they are - and can be great fun. So the Dark Horse - with full R compound and larger tires along with perhaps a slight HP and gearing edge gives it the win - well Kudos for that.

However - as we all know - there is more to a good performance car than flat out speed and we need to consider that the Caddy is somewhat a luxury sedan and does that well...while the Mustangs have many practical shortcomings - including less then stellar interiors and somewhat restricted visibility....which I find to be a deal breaker as it impedes one's ability to make safe quick decisions in traffic...(For practicality sake and one of the great driving joys for those of us who frequently have to deal with these situations).

As to which is a "better" car....sure some subjectivity....but bottom line the Caddy wins in most comparative respects even if a tad slower (negligible in the real world)...neither is a slow car and both are rewarding drives. However, the chassis dynamics of the Caddy is just out of the world good and rewards in all manner of driving - daily around town, long distance cruising as well as pushing it hard.

For my needs and interests its a no brainier - CT 4 V BW all the way - even considering TT 6 speed vs high revving V-8...both have their merits but I can concede that the V-8 has the edge.

P.S. Lol, the first comment in the video ... "I think this proves who the better driver is."

That looked like your car they were racing...auto and all.

I was considering a Camaro, maybe even a ZL1 before getting the CT4, but felt the extra level of quality and a more adult car swung it to the Cadillac. I've been a Camaro guy all my life, but I still have one so that settled it. The Camaro would have been a more equal comparison if they still made them.
